  1. Hmm that's an interesting question. Maybe I mean so many people are obsessed with different "flame wars" between various franchises. Perhaps more people than are willing to admit are completely obsessed with fan culture and the wanting to pick "sides". My definition was simply more broad of course James Cameron will be always ingrained in pop culture. His numbers and critical acclaim back that up.
  2. Cameron and Nolan fanboys I can bear. Snyder ones make little sense to me. And I don't think Rian Johnson falls under the whole "let's be safe" approach that's a common criticism of how Disney handles Marvel or Star Wars. He was given free reign and some loved it others hated it.
  3. I just wonder if it'll take a dive like JL did even if The Rock does appear as the villain.
  4. I'm curious when will we see another Justice League film. Flashpoint even if becomes a team up film doesn't count. 2022?
  5. Black Panther again finds a way to beat expectations. So Box Office Mojo were much closer with their $120M prediction than everyone else thought
  6. Yep which is shown by Wonder Woman's record breaking success and Justice League's failure. It's also why I disagree with people who keep saying DC needs to reboot their universe. They can still get going again by making good films that stand on their own like Phase 1 of Marvel's films.
  7. She kept trying to label Homecoming a "failure" after its 62% drop even though it kept showing signs of good holds afterwards and also kept ignoring the fact that the China release hadn't happened yet.
  8. $600M OS would be such an amazing result that alot of people would be talking about if not for its even more crazy North America performance.
  9. Yep Marvel was playing hard ball with everyone and only RDJ had real power and that was something Marvel (seems like Ike) hated. Notice how all the monetary issues for talent haven't happen since Feige took complete control of Marvel Studios. http://deadline.com/2013/05/robert-downey-jr-avengers-marvel-negotiations-fight-491675/
  10. Also it has me finally convinced Infinity War won't be beating Black Panther in North America. Going to be a bit boring following Infinity War when its drops will be closer to how Civil War, Iron Man 3 and Ultron did than the insane numbers of Black Panther.
  11. So much for being frontloaded. It's amazing to think 4 out of the 5 $200M Opening Weekend films will have multipliers of 3+. Thanks for being the odd one out TLJ.
  12. It's like doing Civil War as the first Captain America film after The Avengers. Granted Flashpoint does tie into the origin of Barry Allen but for a franchise that repeatedly has bitten off more it can chew this is an odd choice.
  13. Yep seems like Batgirl and Flashpoint are bigger priorities than a Nightwing film atm. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/dc-films-taps-chantal-nong-key-production-role-1086317
  14. I think Zod is a pretty good villain in MoS but Michael Shannon's performance is so all over the place from reserved leader to hamming it up with lines like "I WILL FIND HIM!"
  15. Selling the audiences on another version of Spider-Man making selling Homecoming to audiences an easier task. And it seems like Civil War will be a major jumping off point for Ant-Man and the Wasp too. Civil War has really influenced the rest of the MCU much more than Ultron did.
  16. If you wanna compare to other Pixar Originals In North America then yes. But in terms of expectations before the film came out definitely not. Alot of people were expecting <$200M for the domestic box office.
