  1. At this rate I'm confident the Despicable Me franchise could survive the death of cinema itself. In all seriousness there's never been a franchise that critic reviews have mattered less for than this one.
  2. Will a show about "Dream Productions" even if its terrible make people suddenly decide Inside Out 3 is not worth their time? Of course not same reason why if Pixar decides to do a proper sequel to Monsters Inc. how people perceived Monsters Uni will have way more of an impact than how people felt "Monsters at Work" was on Disney+.
  3. Surprised we haven't heard much about it since the success of Puss in Boots 2. Seems like it would be an easy bet to get Dreamworks their first $1B film. Feel like KFP4 was a missed opportunity too on their part despite the overall gross being decent.
  4. When Inside Out 2 was first announced I was a tad sceptical not only in terms of quality but also whether the first despite its huge performance had stuck around like a 2000s Pixar film did in the zeitgeist (its in my Top 3 personally). Well this proves so haha
  5. Yeah that's also a fair point. I think that's why it was frustrating WDAS got the preference for theatrical despite Pixar making the better movies during COVID. And the one Pixar did release was their worst by far in Lightyear. It's been a really good comeback with Elemental last year and this performance.
  6. If originals continue to make Elemental numbers and the sequels continue to be hits (ok maybe not as big as this one will be) then Pixar should be fine. WDAS is in more trouble I think despite getting theatrical preference over Pixar.
  7. I mean clearly we know animated sequels or established IP will still hit at the box office. It's more whether original animation can still succeed these days is the question.
  8. Inside Out is a 2000s era Pixar that released in 2010s. Wonder if Pixar would do a Coco sequel since that's the only other original in 2010 that probably still resonates.
  9. I've enjoyed the 2020s Pixar movies more than the 2010s so far.
  10. Haven't watched the third episode yet but really enjoyed the premiere! Seems like a big step up production wise from the other Star Wars live action shows other than Andor. How good is it to just have Jedi not be confined to familiar faces or being in hiding.
  11. Sounds like reception in line with Finding Dory/Incredibles 2 which makes sense.
  12. The fact the movie is upfront about what is happening makes it even more horrifying. It's not about who did it but why would someone do something like this. Amazing movie overall like Silence and The Irishman Scorsese is more restrained but I feel it works with this material.
  13. Got tickets for tonight excited to finally watch a Scorsese movie in cinemas for the first time.
  14. My thoughts as someone who adores Clone Wars and Rebels continues to grow in stature for me is that I enjoyed it but for me whenever the show has something interesting potentially happening in terms of character conflict it eschews it in favor of mystery or hitting plot points like moving a chess piece. This made the final episode really rushed in terms of having to resolve the main story but also trying to give service to the character moments (I wouldn't even call them arcs unfortunately). More and more I'm becoming less a fan of this limited series type format and more and more I really wish these characters had their stories continue in animation.
  15. Yeah the 4K version of the trailer looks alot better. Still think something like Puss in Boots: The Last Wish executed a similar style better but won't judge too much until the actual movie. BO wise guessing this does better than Elemental for DOM but worse for OS markets with the total roughly the same around $500M. This has more going for it than Elemental but we're still in unknown territory post-COVID and how Encanto did is giving me pause.
  16. As far as the actual episode it was pretty good. Again visually I wish
  17. One of those cases where they were so determined to service a beloved EU character but hadn't had much establishment in the actual canon that they neglected an awesome character that was actually an important part of the show. The funny thing is that there was very early concepts of bringing back Ventress in Star Wars Resistance of all places. Also speaking of Nightsisters it still sucks Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir wasn't part of the final CW season.

  19. WGA might doesn't mean the Academy will even though I actually do think the "Adapted Screenplay" rules are a bit too strict on the Academy side. By the letter of the law it's an adapted work,
