I did too after Ultron and Civil War. Partially though it's because Infinity War is a vastly different film to Avengers while Ultron (and to a lesser extent Civil War) felt like the same thing we saw in Avengers with the same characters. If let's say they did Infinity War and it just had all the OG Avengers (plus the additions from Ultron) I doubt its Opening Weekend gets that much above $200M. Funny enough Infinity War's large cast works in the film's favour because we're essentially watching a Civil War sequel a GOTG sequel and a Thor sequel at the same time along with some cool followups to Black Panther, and Doctor Strange.

The fact that it did this with "only" $39M in previews is what's blowing my mind. Hopefully people don't start panicking next year if Avengers 4 previews don't seem that high compared to Star Wars or DH2. Anyways all this box office talk is wanting me to watch the movie again tonight haha At least I've found a new soundtrack to study with in Silvestri's Avengers Infinity War score

Honestly I think Infinity War got as good of a critic score as possible for the type of film it is. Infinity War is exactly the type of film critics would normally not like and I think in the hands of any other studios the film would definitely have been rated Rotten and been a complete mess. I'm actually surprised the film has a rating of 7.5/10. Was expecting a lower one (which is probably why I'm still gushing over this film cause my expectations were actually fairly tempered).

I agree honestly it felt like TLJ was the final chapter in the Skywalker Story. Rey made her choice and Kylo made his and their paths felt like they were set for the rest of their lives. The only thing left unresolved was the whole First Order vs Resistance conflict which frankly has been poorly set up that does anyone really care about it? Don't think Episode IX will have the advantages ROTJ and ROTS did which allowed those films to increase.

For sure anybody could have directed this and it would have made $200M+. Still though quality wise I'm not sure how much better you could have made this film. So many things could have gone so easily wrong. Yeah Markus and McFeely deserve more credit than they get and it's not a surprise after Avengers 4 the writing duo are joining the Russo Brothers in their own studio.

Just mind boggling to think no film's WW gross has matched Avatar's OS gross except TFA and TFA barely did that.

Well today wasn't a very good follow up to yesterday's bad day but Infinity War should hopefully cheer me up tomorrow. Man I hate uni so much sometimes. And finally got a chance to watch the Westworld Season 2 Premiere. Very intrigued.
