  1. This was the short list of directors for Man of Steel back in 2010 http://deadline.com/2010/09/chris-nolan-looking-for-superman-director-69671/ Tony Scott Matt Reeves Jonathan Liebesman Duncan Jones Zack Snyder
  2. His predictions don't really have a pattern though they do tend to match with very early estimates. Would prefer to speculate when actual preview numbers arrive.
  3. I think WB knew they were in trouble with Justice League once it became apparent BvS was going to easily miss $1 Billion. Lucky for them their other DC films have worked and it seems audiences just judge them on their merits and don't associate them closely with the Snyder films.
  4. WB probably heard the backlash with the decision to reveal Doomsday in that spoiler-filled BvS trailer so perhaps they felt fans would be happy with them not spoiling Superman's appearance. Of course the problem with that is marketing Superman would of course help increase awareness while revealing Doomsday does little to help bring audiences in. Or maybe they should have not killed Superman in the 2ND FILM!
  5. Yeah Thor: Ragnarok's box office run for has been Marvel's most impressive so far since Guardians of the Galaxy. No Avengers bump, no Iron Man bump yet it's going to outgross its predecessor by $100M+ in North America alone.
  6. Not $680M? The closest a DC film has gotten to Spectre's OS gross was TDKR with $636.8M. Justice League would require a $100M+ jump OS from BvS which is tough.
  7. $550 OS seems like a good estimate. Can't see it breaking out in China which would be needed for the $600M+ OS gross.
  8. I think we (understandably) take Marvel a bit for granted with their box office results. We only need to look at War for the Planet of the Apes as another critically acclaimed 3rd Installment yet it significantly decreases from its well received predecessor. Obviously there are different factors at play but the fact is what other studios and franchises envy is just the norm for Marvel.
  9. So far Marvel has done a really good job with their "Part 3" films which is interesting as that is where most franchises struggle. Meanwhile it's their "Part 2s" that tend to be a step down with the exception being Winter Soldier IMO.
  10. Yeah I remember they were gonna be involved in the Ghostbusters franchise. But I imagine this time it's a legit producing deal since it'll be a nice break after the Avengers films.
  11. Russo Brothers signed a deal with Fox to set up their studio over there. Producing and directing different projects. Similar to what JJ Abrams does for Paramount.
  12. True but generally those films either have RDJ starring or have poor reviews (The Incredible Hulk and Thor: The Dark World). Ragnarok has neither of those things.
  13. Which DCEU films do you guys think will end being released in 2019 other than Shazam? I can't imagine Wonder Woman keeps that December 2019 date. Probably move to either February 2020 or June 2020.
  14. That and the fact it's really hard in general to capture the magic of the first anyways.
  15. If any studio can cobble together a film that's at least entertaining and enjoyable to general audiences and critics it's Disney but yeah way too many red flags for Solo: A Star Wars Story. Still not sure in what world can Deadpool 2 "kick the ass" of a Star Wars film even one as problematic as Solo has turned out to be.
