  1. It doesn't sound like you are speaking out of both sides of your mouth to me. Wonder Woman's legs are really great for a comic book movie/big opener.
  2. It has nothing in common with that film so I don't see why you bring it up. The Good Dinosaur always looked like a dull and confusing movie. Coco does not.
  3. That's because your prediction for CoCo is absurdly low. I could see Daddy's Home 2 making half of what the first movie did. Often these comedy sequels are a bad idea.
  4. I always believe, even with word of mouth, hits it's never good to have your expectations sky high on where the film will end.
  5. Personally I think that Sony is being run by not so smart people and I never trust them to make a good or successful movie but I don't wish for their failure. It's fine when people expect certain studios movies to fail, it's weird when one roots on such a thing. I would love it if Sony got their act together.
  6. All Eyez number is great and it's opening will be great but it will have nothing resembling legs. I love Mandy More on This Is Us so good for her that 47 Meters Down is doing well. I didn't predict Rough Night's failure but I'm not surprised by it. The killing a stripper plot is mean spirited and Scarjo is not a comedy actress and not an actress that appeals to ladies as much as she does men. She's having a Rough Year. As I said the problem isn't that the movies are disappointments because that's not as big a deal as fans make it out to be if the films actually make money. The problem is outright flops like Shell and Night. These are not good for her career. Wonder Woman continues to do great. Nothing to see here folks. I knew I should have went Lower on Cars 3. I need to start trusting my instincts more. Cars 3 isn't some failure or anything. It was only made to push their billion dollar merchandise after all.
  7. Wonder Woman beating Man of Steel's second weekend was always a huge long shot and it doesn't have to beat it. I wonder why people set themselves up for disappointment?
  8. The Mummy's opening is too low for anything but great for a blockbuster legs to save it. And I just don't see that happening. An acceptable for a 50+mil opener 2.7 multiplier won't cut it. And no I don't believe that 125mil budget report. I wonder how much it will crash overseas?
  9. This has been a bad year for her. The films aren't just "disappointments." Ghost in the Shell is a huge flop and although Rough Night has a small budget it opening as low as it is, is not good. But she'll survive because she has Marvel.
  10. I want to reiterate that I like Jurassic World for what it is and I've watched Jurassic World more than once, it's a fun movie. And it can't be argued with, it had good word-of-mouth and was a massive success. A lot of Marvel fans that were critics and bloggers, seemed to be really bothered about it beating the stuffing out of Avengers Age of Ultron domestically. I found that to be a humorous reaction and it caused me to root on the movie because I didn't think Age of Ultron was all that great either. I think Ultron is less entertaining than JW. The hatred for Jurassic World from some circles is over the top and silly.
  11. Colin Trevorrow will not be replaced. They are going to keep him on and inevitably have to go back for some big reshoots and rejiggering like they had to with Rogue One after they picked the wrong director for that as well.
  12. Scarlett Johansson tried to do her own Devil Wears Prada with The Nanny Diaries and that didn't do too well so she's not really a draw for these type of films. Of course I am speaking too soon, we have to wait for the Friday numbers.
  13. Eyez number is great but it will be mega frontloaded I think. Cars 3 number is good, lets see what it does over the weekend though. Rough Night's number is disappointing. Wouldn't be shocked if it only did 10mil. We'll have to wait and see though, maybe it will do better than I'm thinking.
  14. Oh so his bad acting in the clip I watched told the whole story? Good to know.
  15. I think this film is a damn near guaranteed non starter. The plot looks generic, nobody but 12 year olds care about the lead and no Keaton is not a draw no matter how much fanboys want him to be.
  16. I didn't hate Jurassic World. It's an okay/mediocre but entertaining movie. The problem is I thought Safety Not Guaranteed was mediocre as well and judging by those spoilers I'll probably hate Book of Henry. The director has yet to impress me in any way. I don't particularly care for Jeff Nichlos based on Take Shelter (I hated it) and Midnight Special (merely okay with some really good moments) but at least I find Jeff Nichols interesting. Colin trevorrow is the oatmeal of directors so far. Bland, nothing remotely interesting about him so far.
  17. So not liking Colin Trevorrow as a filmmaker equals insulting him personally??? On what planet? I don't like him as a filmmaker and I'm not going to act like I do because fanboys can't tell film criticism from personal criticism.
