  1. Solo - A Star Wars Story is a disaster in India with collections of 2.25 crore nett apprx in week one. The film is out in its second week. Deadpool 2 is an Average fare thanks to the opening. The film has dropped almost 80% in week two as the Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions of the film crashed though the English version held a bit better and it managed a 9 crore nett plus week two but there is not much left in the tank and it will probably finish under 55 crore nett. The two week total is 51 crore nett apprx. The collections of Deadpool 2 till date are as follows. First Week - 41,42,00,000 Week Two - 9,50,00,000 apprx TOTAL - 50,92,00,000 apprx Avengers - Infinity War crossed the 225 crore nett mark in its fifth week and is likely to add another 50 lakhs nett for a finish of 226.25 crore nett apprx. The collections of Avengers - Infinity War till date is as follows Week One - 1,56,52,00,000 Week Two - 46,93,00,000 Week Three - 15,88,00,000 Week Four - 4,64,00,000 Week Five - 1,75,00,000 apprx TOTAL - 2,25,72,00,000 apprx https://www.boxofficeindia.com/report-details.php?articleid=3977 DP2 verdict is a bit harsh, it's a clean hit IMO. It has done similar business as SMH and T:R
  2. X-Men DOFP had to contend with a 70M opener in Maleficent the very next week whereas Solo has free reign this week and next week O8 opens but it's opening will be between 35-50M, again not a mega opener. After that Solo has competition but so did DOFP. DOFP DOM is a very good bet right now and it's not missing 200M anyway.
  3. Talking about Tommy Lee Jones, I remember a very funny scene in CA:TFA. Right after Cap kisses Peggy he looks at Tommy(forgot his name in the movie) and Tommy Lee Jones just goes 'I'm not kissing you'

  5. I feel like we need a little perspective here.Solo is obviously bombing OS but even Rogue One made 7.5M there and TLJ 8M. TFA made 24M but that was a global phenomenon and yet it's business is going to be 1/4 of AIW. S.K (actually Asia) is just not the market for SW.
  6. Great article @baumer. James Belushi and John Ritter meeting is my favorite
  7. I feel like I am Dormammu and TLJ is my Doctor Strange , I can't get rid of it and to make matters worse there's a TLJ spoiler discussion thread on the homepage
  8. https://www.forbes.com/sites/scottmendelson/2018/05/31/box-office-jurassic-world-fallen-kingdom-on-track-for-140m-debut/#1d2010fc5147 Forbes predicting 140M OW for JW:TFK I am watching it on 7th June, loved the 1st one. Hopefully this one will bring the house down once again.
  9. OMG !! every sentence I read there's TLJ there. It has to be my most read word since last week even though SOLO was the movie released this past weekend. Can we please take a break from it?
  10. Forbes say 6M, don't know if it's a guess or official. https://www.forbes.com/sites/scottmendelson/2018/05/31/solo-a-star-wars-story-box-office-when-200m-in-a-week-isnt-enough/#38ee38534b02 116M DOM, ~86M OS as per the article. Edit :- He updated WED no. to 4.8M and DOM total to 115M 35% drop from Tuesday
  11. I just completed X-Men Apocalypse rewatch and the only thing that came up in my mind whenever he showed up was the Disbelief emoticon here " ". What has this site done to me?
  12. https://www.forbes.com/sites/scottmendelson/2018/05/30/box-office-solo-a-star-wars-story-earns-7m-on-monday-for-110m-cume/#2ccf8a8172a3 7.33M Tuesday ... even though heading says Monday but you know the gist by now.
  13. He keeps on embarrassing himself further even though it looks like he's trying to back off from his statement.
  14. WW2 will be the Catching Fire of it's franchise. I am thinking 430-435M DOM (150M OW) and 900M+ WW. Don't think OS increase will be too dramatic but should still do ~475M.
  15. Great Tuesday for AIW. It actually increased from yesterday even though it was a Holiday.
  16. So I was browsing through BOM and this caught my eye. This seems like a disastrous BO performance to me if you compare WW gross relative to Budget. But I don't see people talking about this in the list of Bombs. It's not even called a Flop, just a disappointment. Can somebody explain this to me why it's not considered a Disaster? Superman Returns Domestic Total Gross: $200,081,192 Distributor: Warner Bros. Release Date: June 28, 2006 Genre: Action / Adventure Runtime: 2 hrs. 34 min. MPAA Rating: PG-13 Production Budget: $270 million Total Lifetime Grosses Domestic: $200,081,192 51.2% + Foreign: $191,000,000 48.8% = Worldwide: $391,081,192
