  1. Hey our buddy was quoted in CNN: Also this last line made me laugh: Some has just been WAITING to drop that pun.
  2. This. This right here. I will use myself as an explain. I am a diehard MCU fans. Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson live rent free in my mind. I normally do 2-3 showings of an MCU on opening weekend. I did 6 for EG. And for overall showings I do probably 4. I know I saw TFA, IW, and EG 10 times. But now my closest theater is 40 minutes away instead of 5, and I can access the film for $30 at home and watch it every day? So that’s like unlimited access for 3 movie theater trips. it totally makes sense to see it once in theaters and then go do the repeats at home. And I am sure I’m not the only person who figured that out.
  3. Hey? Just waiting here for the numbers to role in? Come watch Johnny Guitar with Joan Crawford with us! It's for Panda's Western Movie Countdown! Join Zoom Meeting https://us02web.zoom.us/j/5423825182?pwd=T1VuUmJ5OVB1ZjRNQmNHRVpDQ3lkUT09 Meeting ID: 542 382 5182 Passcode: BOT
  4. I feel like three weeks exclusive to theaters is really all you need. It will cut off the legs, but most of the money is made in the first three weeks. 🤷‍♀️
  5. Hilariously, I didn’t power rank TFA at all. It’s just there cause it’s just that good.
  6. My big issue with MCU ranking is there's a bunch I haven't seen since we did our Infinity War Rewatch, and that was like 3 years and a effing pandemic ago. I feel a more accurate ranking would be: GOD TIER: Captain America: The Winter Solider Captain America: The First Avenger Black Panther Avengers: Infinity War Avengers: Endgame Captain Marvel HELL YEAH TIER: Loki Thor: Ragnarok The Falcon and The Winter Solider Captain America: Civil War The Avengers I REMEMBER THESE AS GOOD TIER: Ant-Man Ant-Man and The Wasp Guardians of the Galaxy Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 Iron Man MEH TIER: Black Widow WandaVision Thor Spider-Man: Homecoming NOPE TIER: Iron Man 2 Iron Man 3 Thor: Dark World Doctor Strange The Incredible Hulk GAAAARBAGE TIER: Spider-Man: Far From Home Avengers: Age of Ultron
  7. The line in Infinity War is literally "we spent two years together in bad hotel rooms." WHAT WASN'T SAID WAS IT WAS A SINGLE KING BED!!
  8. This feels legit. It's a solid romp but between the "This Should've Been Released X Years Ago" feels and no HOLY SHIT GASP moment, I totally get the A-. That is absolutely what I am reacting to. I mean it's right there! How can you not react!
  9. I just wolfed down Leverage: Redemption and Oh My God, how I have MISSED this show. It's just SOOO GOOD. Such good campy fun. The perfect mix of revenge fantasy, and comedy. Noah Wyle fits right in with the crew, and Aleyse Shannon as Breanna (Hardison's sister) is SUCH a vibrant and youthful additional to the cast. My only complaint is I WISH that Aldis Hodge was in more than two episodes. I thought how they wrote him out of the show was really respectful to the character, but it's just not the same. I know he's a huge star right now and booked on everything, but like the JOY of watching Parker, Hardison, and Elliott together was too much in episode 1 and 2. They are just so powerful. And for all the Word of God talk about protecting the OT3, there's is ZERO OT3 feels and action once Hardison's out of the picture. It just doesn't feel right. That said, the show, for what it is, is excellent. It's such an easy watch and TOTALLY worth it. And the devil is in the details, but I will never understand how I hate Bucky Barnes so much but will die for Elliot Spencer.
  10. Basically this. But now you have all of that + Pratt’s politics. I don’t think they are as shinny as they used to be. That hypocritically said, I would die for Rocket.
  11. I think those are different animals. The MCU previews are really Events. I would liken them more to a local comic book/fandom meet up. I will always remember a couple years ago my friend put it really succinctly: he said, “it’s no different than picking up the comic books on Wednesday. Every six months, we get a new Marvel released to go watch.” It’s less about the title, and more about seeing it together with the fans. What the 13.2M says to me is the core MCU fandom is still in tack. This is particularly great for Phase 4 when we don’t have the what is going happen next/omg I need to know the ending before Twitter spoils it mania that was driving opening weekends in Phase 3. The REAL test will be this weekend to see how many casuals roll up to the box office for tickets. I had 55M before the pandemic. And I had 55M during the pandemic. (Lol my expectations for this film were always 🤷‍♀️).
  12. It’s less than a hurricane up where I am, and more severe rain. We did have to cancel our IMAX tickets because I was not driving to Boston in thunder. But I got tickets for the local theater, and it was packed.
  13. Oh I think of something like Episode 5 of Loki. If I did not have the ability to stop and look for every single Easter egg, I would’ve been at that theater five times to watch that episode. Though I don’t think Widow had any HOLYSHIT moment that was like “I need to see this again ASAP. It’s a very solid spy action movie. And I think it will do very well with the general audience. But there wasn’t exactly a Steve lifting Mjlonir moment to make me run back tomorrow. When I see it again will totally depend on when Mom wants to go. Oooh yes. Yes. VERY good point. I speak from personal experience that I definitely am that person. If there are not good seats, I’m waiting to go see it
  14. I think my big issue with 100 million Is repeat viewing. The MCU has crazy fans, and they will go see the movie multiple times on opening weekend. I know this from personal experience. But with Covid, and with Premiere Access, how many people are going to go back to see it again? The friend that I saw it with today basically said the same. He said that he was going to see it once at the movie theater, and then maybe pay to watch it at home on Disney+. And to be honest, that’s gonna be the difference between and incredibly solid number, and something truly spectacular.
  15. If they had made this movie in 2014, the impact would've been INSANE. I kept thinking that during the movie. I was like, 'Oh my god, if I had gotten this during TWS Era, I would've been unbearable. It's not really forced drama when like half of all of Nat's fans thinks Clint should've died for Natasha. Anyway. My only issue was we had TWO end scenes when a Quinjet showed up to take them away, and NEITHER of those Quinjets had Sam and Steve in them. (Well, the SECOND ONE DID. We just did get the Sam and Steve cameos). God damn tragedy. THAT SAID, this like LITERALLY taking place two/three weeks after Civil War meant that Natasha was only away from Sam and Steve for like A MONTH MAX. That meant my OT3 really did spend two years together in bad hotel rooms. I will always love you.
  16. @Lokis Legion Fuck it, I am on the 100M train. That was waaaaaaaay better than it had any right to be. Like, damn fam. It’s so good to have the MCU Thursday showings back.
  17. The prodigal daughter has returned. I am still not fully recovered from the closing of my theater chain. But I do think it's time to get back to tracking. Couple of notes: 1. We lost Cinemagic, which was the regional chain that owned 2 IMAX theaters + 7 Premium/Stadium theaters in Maine, NH, and Mass. Due to that, I'm going to track Falmouth Flagship in Maine and Regal Fox Run & RPX in Newington, NH. Since everyone's been forced migrate to those, I suspect I'm going to overindex until basically Eternals, probably until Spider-Man. 2. I found that presales were INCREDIBLY SLOW up here before the pandemic. We tended to have a rush on the first day, and then nothing until the last 2 or 3 days of sales. So in the future, I'm just going to track the first 24 hours of sales, and then the final says on the final Thursday. FALMOUTH FLAGSHIP TIME SOLD TOTAL 5:00 PM 67 117 6:00 PM 64 107 7:00 PM 12 58 8:00 PM 109 117 252 399 I have Regal that I will post / ETA when I get back from the movie, but TL;DR: It's basically sold out around here.
