  1. This is just him protecting himself for when they don’t reach those 140 million subscriptions by 2025
  2. The concept of giving a hero their individual movies and then doing a team up every like 3/5 years makes sense. I support that. It’s when they freak out because things go sideways, and immediately try to reset everything is when they get in trouble. If they’re gonna commit to this, and they’re going to see it through, this is probably a good thing. They also need to hire people that actually like comics. No more of this I want to do a deconstruction of Superman bullshit. I want to superman movie that feels like superman movie.
  3. As someone who has dealt with sexism from fandom men for 20 years thinking I don’t deserve to be in the space, yeah. There is. Moreover it is incredibly troubling if they are writing and producing those shows thinking their target audience is men and not everyone. Huge, huge, huge red flags. I totally support this, I just wanna know who’s gonna run it. Cause it cannot be Johns.
  4. My friend issues D+ almost exclusively because when her grandfather with dementia comes over, the nature docs and animal shows are like the only thing he watches that keeps him calm. My grandmother only watches hallmark movies and she 93 and can’t really do anything anymore but Watch TV and go for car rides. My dad still watching survivor after all of these years. I love watching Law & order reruns cause I can put them on in the background, and I can just listen to them without having to watch anything while I’m doing other stuff. There are tons of different reasons why people watch different forms of entertainment. Again, to sound like a broken record, this is why you need diversity in your programming. And this is why what discovery is doing is whack. Because they had it. They had everything they needed to take the ball and run past everyone! But instead they are just angering everyone. And I think the big difference between what’s happening now, and say all of the other scandals that have happened over the past several years with creatives versus executives is Zaslav is Truly fucking with peoples livelihoods. Canceling developmental deals, canceling shows where the crew are not going to find replacement jobs anytime soon. The effects of what he’s doing are going to be felt throughout the entire industry. So I suspect people are gonna think twice about wanting to work with WBD if this is the direction they’re going with.
  5. Never watched the first one and have zero interest in it. This. This is gonna be opening night. LFGGG
  6. I am just here for the scenery point and crazy vibes. But mostly scenery porn. I loooooved the Aran Islands.
  7. It’s almost like no one wants to let anything breathe anymore. Like, who cares what comes next. Just enjoy the journey.
  8. THEY HAVE THIS!!!! It is called the Criterion Collection/Channel! Also WB TRIED THIS before with FilmStruck and they said it was not profitable and SHUT IT DOWN. Again, I might be super basic here, but the best assets the WBD has is it’s breath of programming. We don’t need a bunch of baby streaming subs. You need to combine them into ONE and position yourself as essential because you a one stop shop for the goods. If they want to be Disney, this is how Disney did it. Hulu, ESPN, Disney+ Bundle.
  9. Eric and I talked about it. The general consensus is that he’s just trying to bait us Into giving him warning points. And I’m not gonna play the game. So I would consider this less a change of policy, and more a just ignore him because everyone else is acting like adults and being cool here.
  10. Oh I’m not giving out warning points for this. If we’re going to spell the full tea, @grim22 upset that I’m not giving out warning points in the Warner Bros. threads because people are saying bad things about DC Films. So he was like what will happen if I go into the Eternals Thread and say something bad. And I say let him. Because Fanboy Wars are stupid, and we’re all adults here. We can actually have conversations About This, because it’s not 2016 anymore, and we’re all adults here. The only thing that I ask is you do not personally attack any of your fellow posters. You can call the movie stupid all you want. You can say it’s not gonna make money all you want. But do not imply that someone is stupid or dumb ass because they disagree with you. Other than that have at it.
  11. But it’s also about selling at the right time, and for the maximum value. If you could sell DC comics and all of its rights to say Paramount or Amazon or Apple net like 5-7B, might be worth it. Would it probably be short sighted? Absolutely. But if you’re looking to reduce your debt quickly, 🤷‍♀️
  12. Regarding DC Films: The big thing is the publishing division. I know that, for example, the Wonder Woman rights are tied to publishing Wonder Woman comics. No comics, things get real messy. So that will be the biggest tell of all that they are looking to sell those rights if say, they start making masses cuts (even more than they have) to their publishing division.
  13. Is now the time to mention that The Sound of Music legit saved 20th Century Fox from bankruptcy in the 1960s. Adjusted for inflation it is still the three biggest movie of all time. Very important film! Also The Lonely Goat Herd Puppet Show!!!
  14. By the way our 101-200 is going, Singin In The Rain is gonna be 102. And then y’all will see what truly unbiased moderation looks like.
  15. I can confirm Avengers: Endgame was the best cinematic experience of my life. Doubt it will ever be topped. What a fucking amazing 72 hours at the movie theaters. To be fair to the 2000s, they were 20 years ago. We're all old.
