To be fair, I think part of us all are in camp 2. This is objectively hysterical. Who doesn't love a good hubris got you in the end / hosted up by our own petard story. The problem is Twitter, for better or worse, has become an integral part of our culture. And for all of the people on there trying to spread lies and conspiracies, there are also as many using it for reporting news and promotions. Now with this Blue Check fiasco, it's going to become even MORE easy for people to spread lies and conspiracies. And regardless of what "side" you're on, that's very, very, very bad.

I think Cavill is fine enough for Superman, that they could definitely do a soft reboot, the way they did with Thor, and it would work just fine. I should note that I don’t mean that they should make Superman a Himbo comedy. I just mean that I think there’s been enough time where it’s possible to do some tonal changes to the property that would make it feel more like Superman. More wonder, more optimism, etc

Funny Story. Saturday is my nieces birthday, so my mom and I said we’d take my nephew to Wakanda Forever while she was having her birthday party. Buy tickets was a nightmare. First, I was so confused, because they were not showing up on Saturday. I so frustrated, I went to the theater only to find out that the theater is not open before 3 o’clock on weekdays anymore. When I got back home, I called over and got someone on the phone. They said: “well, we’re showing it in 3D! That’s why it wasn’t showing up.” I actually think I let out a groan as “goddammit Disney trying to get people ready to watch Avatar 🙄” slipped out. We both laughed, but it also took two times to figure out which showing was not 3-D. Finally I got the 2D But I also had her check the Thursday showings, because I was like I am not going to be sitting there crying dealing with my 3-D glasses over my regular glasses!!!

For me the only question is are they using the Thunderpuss remix of “It’s Not Right (But It’s Okay).” Truly the make or break moment.

I was legit gonna come and post the corporate says to find the difference / they are the same picture meme. The other problem is that people are watching the video on YouTube. So it doesn’t really matter what the 4K theatrical version looks like, because they’re only seen the 1080k version. I also don’t think the picture quality is the main issue here. General consensus from what I gather is it looks gorgeous. I personally think the underwater shots are amazing. My concern right now would be awareness and reactions. before for people jump on me, my “concern” is basically like the difference between this making $200 million on opening weekend and like $150 million on opening weekend DOM. I don’t think it’s gonna bomb. I think it’s gonna make money. I just don’t know if it’s going to make crazy opening weekend money considering there’s not really like a hook, and there’s no spoiler factor, and there’s a nice long two week vacation at Holiday. This movie to me feels like it’s gonna be really based in really back ended.

ATOM is saying it is open on Friday for Wakanda Forever at 11:30AM. what throws me is that it’s all weekdays. I live in a very very old state. I’m shocked they’re not doing at least like a matinee on a Tuesday or Thursday for the old folk.

Sad news: my theater is not open for matinees anymore during the weekdays. I went over to buy tickets for Wakanda forever, because I was trying to get them for Saturday for my nephew. And I kept running into errors online. So I couldn’t figure out if they were already sold out, or if it was just an issue with their website and then, when I got to the theater, they were closed. And they said they didn’t open until 3 PM anymore. also, their Tuesdays are now buy one get one free. That’s their discount Tuesday.
