Don’t you get tired of spewing the same “IW is a bad movie” BS. Your opinion is subjective and in no way representes what the rest of the world feels. In reality it’s acclaimed by both fans and critics and that’s an objective fact. I know that you’re at home crying that IW smashed all the records but please for your own good - Stop!

This is going to do 1.2-1.3 billion OS (if we are lucky). I’m hoping for 1.4 so that 2B is secured.

No one loved Avatar. It was a 3D selling gimmick. The movie didn’t age well. A great comparison would be “Alice In wonderland” which grossed 1 billion cause of 3D technology. The sequel BOMBED. Avatar will most likely not even reach 1 Billion.

This has truly been the best weekend ever. I knew that it was going to beat the OW record. It’s so hilarious to see all the doubters/haters “predictions” shattered. “Bu..bu..BUT Civil War!!!!” The best part is that A4 will do even better. All hail the biggest franchise in the world!

Lol it will happen it in a couple of weeks. And it surpassed it marginally in the US (aka the most relevant market where the studios get the most profit). A random z-list marvel hero that nobody has heard of is more profitable than BvStar Wars episode 8. That’s embarrassing!. Perhaps they need another decade long break to build up interest again?

Star Wars wins with what exactly? Black panther destroyed The Last Jedi And infinity war is about to eclipse TFA ow. At this point I wouldn’t be surprised if Ant-man 2 out grosses Han Solo.

No one with any knowledge of the movie industry takes the golden globes seriously. You should be ashamed of yourself for not knowing better - seeing as you’re on a movie board forum. Golden globes are paid for awards this is a well known fact and it means absolutely nothing. Her acting in American horror story was atrocious not to mention that the season is the most panned in the series. So basically everyone that watched the show has seen her terrible acting and that bought award won’t help with ticket sales.

Lol you’re comparing two HUGE brands to “a Star is born”. The latter is Oscar bait - it NEEDS good acting since it doesn’t have big fancy cgi monsters to distract the audience. Star Wars and Beauty and the Gaga were hits based on their brands alone.

They sure as hell do. People don’t go watch movies with bad acting. Also not a lot of people like her music seeing as she hasn’t had a hit since 2013. She’s a forgotten electro pop fad so that won’t bring in much ticket sales. This movie would have probably been a hit had the original lead stayed - the modern Michael jackson also known as Beyoncé.

All those movies feature high caliber talanted actresses / actors. A Star is stillborn has “Lady Gaga” with her stiff “acting” and botoxed face unable to emote any emotion. This is going to flop.

Lady FadGa is over. She was a 2009 electro pop fad with no current legacy. This won’t get any press because of her. And it will be the final nail in her alredy rotting career.

Well if we removed titanic from titanic then it wouldn’t be titanic since there wouldn’t have been a ship to sink. And 80% of the movie was about the ship sinking and proper escaping/dying It’s not even a close comparison lol.

The plot is about about blue Pocahontas teaching him to paint with the colors of the wind. If we removed him changing species part it would have still played out the same. Nothing in the plot changes. As I said it’s a minimally tweaked Pocahontas. (And yes Disney owns their version of Pocahontas. Since their story is fiction and not like what actually happened)

Wow you’re right. Tweak the movie with some additional add on and it’s an entire new plot line. Forgive my stupidity.

It’s true even if you are scared to admit it. Whenever someone says “avatar” most people will think of the last air bender (tv show). Avatar was a fad driven by the 3D technology. It was presented as something new and a must watch experience. No one really cared for the story or the characters. It was all based on a gimmick. That’s why the sequels will bomb. No one is interested to see what happenes next.
