And to be clear, nothing wrong with that. Inflation is as inflation does. Once upon a time 150M DOM was mega blockbuster status. Come mid 2020s 400 won’t be a huge deal anymore.
Low 300s is medium sized now. It’s true that only a handful of movies a year hit it, but on the other hand, a handful of movies hit it every year. Around 7 a year for 2015-2018. Definitely not true blockbuster status anymore like it was in 2011.
After episode 3, they needed to really nail the final 3 episodes for the overall show to work. Instead they were 3 of the worst in the entire run. All this despite having great shots, good acting, and plot points that in theory could be made to work with proper development.
It’s kind of amazing, stepping back, how far they were able to make this show’s legacy fall in only 6 episodes. Just an important reminder that nothing can be considered the best until it ends.
They would have been better off GRRMing us after season 7 than airing this faceplant of a season.
At least there’s now a fun reading of the season where Bran’s ineffectiveness instead is brutal, cynical brilliance.
17 PT 5/19/19 (End of Sun)
1 33.4% John Wick:Chapter 3 - Parabellum

4 5.6% A Dog’s Journey
5 3% The Hustle
I wonder if tomorrow will be a whole new world.
I don’t think 850 can happen before Labor Day, but it would be unwise to act too certain about the late legs already. FFH looks massively more connected to Endgame than AM&tW to IW, for instance. Maybe summer is relatively more help to an even longer movie, etc etc. Realistically the range should be like 825-865, but no one wants to hear that cause it’s pretty useless or say it because it makes you look unable to get a good range 😛
