  1. The only Phase One movie that could probably be written of as a loss is TIH. Also, as a side note, Disney weren’t the distributors for most of the Phase One movies.
  2. To try and move the topic away from Ezra Miller’s insanity for a bit, I think I might have an idea on what they plan to do with Batman moving forward. Before the Discovery merger, the plan was for Michael Keaton to become the new Batman of the DCEU. Well, in lieu of Batgirl getting canned and Affleck being brought in to do a scene for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, I think the plan is for Affleck to continue being the primary Batman of the DCEU. I’m sure Keaton will still be in this movie, but at this point, I think it’ll be a one-off.
  3. I suppose that Batman is the only mainstream superhero who really lends himself well to that approach (which is ironic, because Spider-Man is the one who always has the multiverse adventures), since he’s a very versatile character who has had many wildly different interpretations, but it still feels like Batman overload.
  4. One last thing I guess I’ll say; I don’t think there’s much of a point in trying to build a unified DC cinematic universe if you’re going to still have Batman and Joker spin-offs set in alternate universes running at the same time. That just causes confusion.
  5. I completely forgot that we were supposed to be getting Batman and Superman animated shows next year. I would assume those are dead now.
  6. I’m just sitting here thinking that this current mess and confusion regarding DC likely could’ve been avoided if BvS had at least received MoS-level reception. Oh, and it might’ve also helped if they never cast Ezra Miller.
  7. Kevin Feige and Marvel took a risk by banking their entire universe on lesser known characters for the MCU. They obviously had no real choice in the matter, but the bottom line is that they took a gamble, and it paid off. I can’t picture someone seemingly as risk-averse as Zaslav taking a similar gamble.
  8. In my honest opinion, I think it’s too late to try and get back into the cinematic universe craze. They had their chance back in 2016, and it didn’t work out. They should just focus on standalone film series.
  9. Does anyone else think it’s weird that Zaslav apparently wants WB to be more like Disney, but he’s trying to cut back on the children’s content?
  10. I’ve long since said that WB should stop trying to copy Marvel and just do their own thing, but it looks like they just won’t give up.
  11. I don’t see much of a reason right now to assume that David Zaslav knows what he’s doing.
  12. First off, are you incapable of having a discussion without insulting people? Second, I’m not making conspiracies. Depp supporters are the ones making conspiracies, like when they claimed that the U.K. judge who ruled against Depp (cope) was somehow in Rupert Murdoch/Amber Heard’s pocket. Seriously, if you want to argue that Depp is innocent because a non-sequestered jury that was too dumb to properly fill out their forms said so, then I don’t know what to tell you. Again, the unsealed documents have painted a very u flattering picture of Depp and his legal team, and your only response to that was a single word that was meant to insult me. Anyway, that’s the last I’ll say on this, as there’s already a separate thread for Johnny Depp and Amber Heard.
  13. Yes, actually, the jury was pretty insane, as was the jury that acquitted O.J. Simpson, and the recent unsealing of the court documents have not painted a flattering picture for Depp, as many mainstream publications have reported.
  14. By the way, in regards to Clint Eastwood, as I mentioned earlier, the big problem in that case is that WB executives gave an explanation for why they greenlit the movie, and Zaslav’s response was to use a quote from Jerry Maguire to say that maintaining good working relations with your talent isn’t important. Anyone who has ever worked in the industry will tell you that it’s always good to maintain connections in a “I scratch your back, you scratch mine” kind of way. The fact that Zaslav apparently isn’t aware of this is asinine.
  15. Netflix has a ton of original content. Again, the main problem here is the idea that reality television is being emphasized over scripted content. By the way, I don’t think it’s snobbish to say that shows like Here Comes Honey Boo Boo and 19 Kids and Counting are trash.
