  1. Looks like WB’s most definitive crowdpleaser of the year is going to end up being Godzilla vs. Kong.
  2. If this movie is like 2001, then I’m all for it, but that might not play very well with general audiences.
  3. I’m not surprised people are saying the movie is slow, but I wonder if that will hurt its Oscar chances.
  4. There is a certain irony in China rejecting a superhero film that was made in large part to appeal to that market. And before anyone jumps at me, I’m not saying that’s the sole reason this movie was made, but considering Disney’s track record of trying to appease China, it’s not difficult to imagine that this movie may have been prioritized partly for that reason.
  5. They never should’ve moved this out of September. What was even the point of pushing it back a few weeks? If the virus situation is truly going to be bad in September, I doubt it’ll be that much better in mid-October.
  6. My favorite movie of the last two years would probably be something like Pig. This movie is a perfectly serviceable diversion, but I don’t have any particularly high praise for it.
  7. It’s going to a very surreal experience when the trailer for this finally drops.
  8. I’ve always been under the impression that WB was willing to give Matt Reeves quite a bit of space for this movie. He was hired all the way back at the beginning of 2017, but cameras didn’t start rolling until three years later, and that was supposedly because WB was letting him take his time with the script. This clearly wasn’t something that was rushed into production.
  9. According to ViewerAnon, his source that initially told him the test screening wasn’t for this movie lied to him. Apparently, WB is taking measures to keep any leaks about this movie to a minimum.
  10. If I were a betting man, I’d say that either No Way Home or DS2 is going to be used to explain why Deadpool will suddenly be in the MCU.
  11. Speaking of the Snyder Cut, Snyder has said that he had a rough cut of JL that was 214 minutes long, but from what I understand, that cut was never screened for test audiences. I’ve never been in any test screenings, so I’m not sure what the standard protocol is for how long these things are compared to the finished movie.
  12. This seems like it should be the last movie of Phase 4, but as far as I can tell, that’s not the case.
  13. If dinosaurs lived among us…they would probably make for decent zoo attractions.
  14. I thought it would max at around $600 million after the first week, so it surpassed my expectations.
  15. I wonder if this can break into the top 10 North American opening weekends of all time. Currently, nine out of 10 of the movies in that list are Disney movies, so I guess this would technically be an exception to that, even though Disney would still profit off it.
