  1. Any movie that released a trailer before the pandemic might as well be released before 2022. MI7 is already scheduled to be released in the John Wick 4 date. Besides, WB aren’t the ones distributing JW4.
  2. WB claimed that they would be abandoning the hybrid model by next year (we’ll see), but in terms of this year, it already seems to be too late. Maybe they’ll move Matrix 4, but that’s about it.
  3. Marvel and DC are both trying to make a big deal out of having multiverse storylines, so if the best days of comic book movies are truly behind them, it won’t be for lack of trying.
  4. WB (or more specifically, AT&T) already sent everything to streaming last year, and Disney has already done that with all their movies that have been released in 2021 so far. It wouldn’t make much of a difference at this point.
  5. The first trailer for GvK wasn’t released until two months before the movie was released. There’s still time.
  6. After how much the past three DC movies have underperformed (though WW84 and TSS at least have the pandemic and the dual release as an excuse), the pressure is going to be on for this movie to do well. I just hope it can get a Cinemascore rating that’s higher than a B+.
  7. I don’t know what’s been going on for the past few pages in this thread, but I can safely say that at the rate we’re going in, maybe movie theaters really are doomed.
  8. I just think it’s annoying that DC movies keep getting B+ scores, while garbage like Space Jam 2 gets an A-. I’m not optimistic about what the Cinemascore rating for The Batman will look like. Matt Reeves doesn’t have a good track record with that.
  9. That’s four DC movies in a row that got a B+. Meanwhile, Space Jam: A New Legacy got an A-…
  10. If Ayer’s version doesn’t have the bizarre editing and weird use of pop songs, then that’s already an improvement.
  11. it’s a matter of expectations. Box office forecasts overestimated the amount of money BW would make on OW. Plus, the movie had a large drop from Friday through Sunday.
