  1. “Comfort food” is actually a pretty appropriate description for the MCU.
  2. Look, I know theres a new Matrix movie coming out this year, but are we really doing this? This seems like something that would’ve been made 20 years ago, minus the Twitter reference and LeBron’s appearance at the end.
  3. If this movie does end up opening the same day as Avatar 2, something tells me that certain corners of the Internet are going to encourage people to boycott this one and go watch that instead.
  4. This would be the second time a publication suggested that this movie is getting an exclusive theatrical release, only for it to turn out to be nothing.
  5. That’s no surprise. The Paddington movies are also PG. Hell, even that My Little Pony movie that came out a few years ago is PG. The G rating is pretty much taboo nowadays. Studios don’t want their movies to be rated G, out of fear that audiences will dismiss the movies as being “too kiddie.” I’m pretty sure the Shrek movies played a hand in killing the G rating.
  6. If she said that, then ok. That’s different. People were making it sound like the problem was that reviewers shouldn’t talk about this stuff at all, which came across as somewhat hypocritical to me.
  7. If WB makes an exception for this movie when it comes to their 2021 slate and hybrid releases, I don’t think it’d be much of a blow to HBO Max.
  8. I just don’t see why this would be worth talking about. I’ve seen worse examples of critics making sexual comments in their reviews. It’s not like this is the first time someone has sexualized Scarlett Johansson. Her career has largely been built around being a sex icon.
  9. Didn’t Roger Ebert get horny in a number of his reviews? This doesn’t seem like something new for a critic to do.
  10. The idea that there was no course correction, even after they brought in Steve Kloves to help write the script, seems baffling to me. Is WB trying to avoid another Justice League situation or are they just not willing to deviate from what Rowling wants?
  11. Optimus Primal is the descendant of Optimus Prime and is therefore a new character.
  12. I can’t imagine that WB would be willing to commit to pumping out two more movies after this. This movie needs to be able to serve as a finale.
  13. I distinctly recall the IMAX preview leaking on YouTube a couple of weeks ago. I only saw a few seconds of it, though. Also, while we’re talking about this movie, if the premise is supposed to be that the world has to get used to living with dinosaurs, I’m not sure how that’s supposed to be believable. It’s not like dinosaurs are kaiju from the Godzilla universe. Humanity can easily deal with these things, just like any other animal.
  14. This looks like a better release date, but the movie seems unlikely to do good business either way.
  15. Abomination? I knew he was going to be in the She-Hulk show, but I didn’t think he’d show up here.
  16. Since this is reportedly going to be set in the 90s, I’ll take that as an indication that they really are ignoring the Bay movies. Also, it’s probably a good idea that they’re finally covering the Beast era. Let’s see if this is the shot in the arm the franchise needs.
  17. Does it seem odd to anyone else that Zack and Deborah Snyder are listed as executive producers for this, but David Ayer isn’t?
  18. Not every day that a studio releases the same trailer twice on the same channel.
