    That’s what I’ve been saying since Gunn first announced that Batman would be a major part of the DCU. There’s no way of knowing if BatB will go over well, especially with Andy Muschietti directing it.

    Well, if an AI were sentient, then that would make the idea of just killing it difficult to justify from a moral standpoint. It is somewhat unfortunate timing, though.

    I don’t understand how the issue over residuals is in anyway complicated. Residuals should just be directly proportional to how successful a show is on whatever service it’s on. You’re really telling me all these massive corporation can’t afford that without raising their prices by 500%?

    I would imagine the SAG-AFTRA strike is a bigger headache for the studios, so they’re gonna want to end that soon.

    I think the jury is still out on if this will get a glowing response from critics. I could see this being something that would inspire feelings of “meh” in a lot of people.

    I said the obsession with test screenings started in 2016, and I was specifically referring to the obsession that people places on the Internet have with them.

    Killing off either the baby or Mera would be in poor taste to me, but the DC movies made during Walter Hamada’s regime have been full of stuff like that. They could easily just kill off Thomas.

    That’s mostly because of the third act and that dumb Vader hallway scene though, which from my understanding, were mostly reshoots.

    I’m getting more curious about how this will perform the closer we get to OW. I think a lot is resting on this, KotFM and Napoleon.

    I feel like this whole obsession with test screenings all started with Suicide Squad back in 2016.

    The months leading up to the release of EG were insane, and CM definitely benefitted from all that hype. The buzz for the MCU is nowhere near as strong now as it was in 2019, so I don’t think this movie will be able to bank on a big OW. Still, if word of mouth is good, then it could maybe leg it out like GotG 3 did.

    Bill Maher would probably just make fun of the people criticizing him on his show, and call them snowflakes (is that still a thing?) or whatever.

    Saying that a Marvel movie wouldn’t be a real Oscar contender isn’t exactly a hot take. Yeah, there was Black Panther, but that film had a unique cultural significance behind it that the Avengers movies utterly lack. I just don’t know if I can buy that a movie like this would have a shot at a Best Picture nomination. I suppose we can’t rule it out. I mean, District 9 got a BP nod, and Dune moving to next year does leave more room for such a thing, but still, isn’t too early to throw around a prediction like that?

    I’ve been thinking the same thing. Even the television version of The Walking Dead wasn’t willing to kill off a baby. It would also be really bizarre to have a bunch of jokey “bromance” banter between Aquaman and Orm after his son gets horribly murdered.

    Ruimy is saying it’s great? I would’ve half-expected him to consider it “woke” for being a Disney film that stars a black guy.
