  1. I don’t see why it being a “spin-off” would be a factor in pushing people away. Did that push people away from The Avengers?
  2. I don’t know how anyone could look at the marketing and not understand that Carol Danvers is a major character here. That was my point. A title doesn’t make that much of a difference.
  3. Sony has benefitted immensely from their deal with Marvel. I’m not so sure they’re gonna want to move away from it now. Mind you, I’m not entirely convinced that we’re actually getting another trilogy with Tom Holland. I don't even know if that’s something he wants to do. As for that whole thing about Captain Marvel being the new face of the MCU, supposedly the plan was for her, Black Panther and Spider-Man to be the new Marvel Trinity, but Chadwick Boseman dying threw a wrench in that. Assuming the MCU doesn’t completely fall apart by then, I can imagine the MCU becoming more mutant-centric after the Multiverse Saga. Still, I’m not sure how they’ll go about introducing proper MCU versions of characters like Wolverine or Professor X.
  4. People went to TDK despite it not having ‘Batman’ in the title.
  5. Marvel should’ve tried getting Fantastic Four off the ground sooner. They could’ve been positioned as the face of the next MCU saga, but they’re being introduced too late into the game at this point. Also, they shouldn’t have haphazardly green-lit a bunch of subpar TV shows that basically existed to keep people subscribed to Disney+.
  6. Ok, so apparently Owen Teague isn’t playing Caesar’s son, but a new character named Noa, and Freya Allan isn’t playing Nova, but a new character named Mae, who also happens to be a feral human. In other words, this does indeed take place after all the characters in the Caesar trilogy are dead. Basically, it’s less TFA and more TNG.
  7. So, is this meant to be take place way into the future where all the characters from the previous trilogy are dead? Because I thought Owen Teague was playing Ceasar’s son?
  8. They’ve obviously shown a questionable track record at best, but MyTimeToShine is claiming that Marvel does not in fact plan on replacing Kang with Dr. Doom.
  9. I can’t believe we’re still putting so much stock in test screenings.
  10. I remember back in the mid-2010s when Interstellar was one of those movies that was cool to dunk on. Those were simpler times.
  11. I don’t get why Disney is trying to buy Comcast’s share of Hulu when they’re in hard times financially.
  12. Tatiana Siegel does all kinds of hit pieces. I would argue she did one just last month, but we probably shouldn’t get into that here. Regardless, if what she implied about Nia DaCosta not being involved in post-production is true, then I’m not sure what to make of that. Obviously for most productions, the director just leaving during post would be troubling news, but this is a Marvel production. We all know that the directors seldom have much power over these films anyway. I suppose that someone like James Gunn is an exception, but DaCosta has already been upfront about how this is Kevin Feige’s film. She’s just a person for hire. Perhaps the fact that she’s been upfront about this before the movie even comes out can be taken as a sign that she’s trying to distance herself from it, so I guess that could be a point of concern.
  13. The only big takeaway I have is that I’m flabbergasted that they’d feel so desperate that they’d need to make a nostalgia bait movie with the original Avengers cast. Things can’t be that dire, can they? Also, just recast Kang. He should theoretically be a pretty easy character to recast anyway.
  14. These past few years have convinced me that WB is quite possibly the pettiest studio in Hollywood.
  15. Call it “Untitled Third Deadpool Movie.” Edit: Damn, ZeroHour beat me to it.
  16. The fact that Rachel Zegler has become Brie Larson 2.0 for all these Internet grifters just because of her comments about Snow White of all things is ridiculous. Since when was Snow White held up as some sacred cow among the Disney animated canon? She’s always been right up there with Sleeping Beauty in terms of being considered the most boring of the Disney princesses. She’s nowhere near as beloved as Ariel, or Belle or even Jasmine. Anyway, I’m rooting for this to do well just to piss those people off. It’s baffling that ever since TLJ, milking nerd outrage at women and minorities has become such a lucrative business model for YouTubers and bloggers.
  17. I’ll probably sound stupid for asking this, but what exactly makes Disney, WB, Netflix, and Universal the “Gang of Four?”
  18. If the strike really gets resolved by the end of the weekend (and yes, I understand that’s not a guarantee) then I’m gonna be dying to know what motivated Disney to delay this and Elio by an entire year.
  19. I guess it’s not a problem for me because I usually make sure to go before I see a movie, and I stay away from the concessions in general.
