  1. Indy’s budget going out of control was partially due to COVID, as well as Harrison Ford’s injury, which forced them to pause filming.
  2. Iger probably should’ve realized that flooding the market with so many Marvel and Star Wars streaming shows was going to potentially bite them in the ass. He favored quantity over quality.
  3. Iger was the one who insisted on going all-in on Disney+ in the first place.
  4. I’m still not sure if Zaslav genuinely thought this movie was going to be some beloved phenomenon, or if he knew it had an uphill battle, and was just overcompensating by pushing that whole “best superhero movie ever” narrative. Either option is pathetic, but the former would certainly be a lot funnier.
  5. It sure is impressive how the studios are trying every possible approach to ending these strikes except for the ridiculously simple solution of making a fair deal with the guilds.
  6. I think the only streaming services that really have the pull to do big movie releases are Netflix and maybe Amazon Prime.
  7. It’s an August release, so I can’t imagine any scenario where it doesn’t.
  8. As much as I’m not particularly excited for this, I guess it would be nice if it does well, if it means that studios can go back to taking risks on people who aren’t Christopher Nolan or James Cameron.
  9. NWH isn’t the kind of film that holds up all that well when you’re not sitting with a large crowd that hasn’t seen it before. Still, from my observation, it seems FFH is the least popular of the trilogy. It’s the awkward middle child. I think DP3 would’ve definitely been a big deal if it had been the MCU film that followed NWH, but MoM already filled that role, so I don’t know if that’s going to deflate the hype at this point. I guess we’ll see.
  10. The first Shazam got an A. Since then though, every DC movie received a B+, with the exception of The Batman (A-) and The Flash (B). Edit: Oh, and I guess Super Pets also got an A-, if you want to count that.
  11. Pretty sure that wasn’t actually what she meant, and she even clarified it later, but regardless, people were hating on her before that.
  12. There always seems to be some new “quirky” actress who it’s cool to hate on. It was Anne Hathaway for a while, then it was Jennifer Lawrence and now I guess it’s Rachel Zegler.
  13. Those three movies alone wouldn’t sustain the month of December. They need a big action tentpole for the sake of counterprogramming.
  14. December is the best possible time to release this, especially if WB isn’t very confident in it. Might as well get it over with. I’m sure that’s what James Wan wants too.
  15. That average score isn’t really impressive, but most people don’t pay attention to that.
