Also take note of the fact it says "In association with Marvel". Looks like Feige wants to make sure people know he has nothing to do with it. Hell, they did the same thing with Into The Spider-Verse, but haven't with any of the Fox films.
The DGA process for this is gonna be interesting. Don't know how much Fletcher reshot, but it doesn't seem like it was a Ron Howard-Solo style job.
One thing's for certain though: even if he does get final credit for the film, no way is Singer gonna do any promotion for it.
Oh, and Robert Richardson, who's worked with Tarantino on all of his films since Kill Bill (except for Death Proof), will provide his talents as the director of photography.
That's probably it. The merger and Solo's box office (if SW still does really well in May) will probably be the deciding factors on which film moves.
Of course, James Cameron could also have a say in what happens....
I'm sure he will. But given that this is supposed to start first and will likely film into 2019, I think Jumanji won't start until Spring next year at the earliest (and that's if Dwayne's other film Red Notice doesn't go ahead first). This is why I doubt Sony's claims of getting Jumanji 3 out by Christmas next year.
NM probably, but The Grudge isn't out until August 16th, which is two weeks after H&S' current date. So by then it should slow down, and Grudge could do well against it.
That's VISIONARY FILMMAKER Director X, thank you very much.
Anyway, this film looks very cut-rate and rushed. Then again, it was only announced back November and started filming in January, so I guess it's not too surprising.
I agree with you on that. DP 2 is looking to be huge, and I think a lot of fall films will start their marketing campaigns with it (been saying this with The Predator and Halloween as well).
I'm really not sure what to think about Dauberman directing. It and Annabelle: Creation were pretty good (great even in the case of the former). But I'm just not sold on letting him do this as his first time directing (his IMDb doesn't even have any short films listed). But hey, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
And even if it fails, he still has It: Chapter 2 and Are You Afraid Of The Dark? to fall back on.
