  1. Yeah, how else do you think Disney Studios won Best Villain of 2019 on BOFFY? I bought all the votes.
  2. I think early October would be the best move for the movie. Venom 2 is releasing on the first weekend of October but that's gonna be an Asia player either way where Bond isn't that big (and Europe will be left free) and it will probably also do sub-200 mil DOM so again, not huge competition for Bond. November means it's competing against a potential 300 mil DOM, 1 bil WW grosser (The Eternals) which isn't ideal.
  3. Scoob!'s gonna be the first family film releasing after coronavirus clears up so none of this tracking stuff matters. People are gonna want to watch an epic family film like Sonic (the last great family film before coronavirus outbreak) so of course, I'm still confident.
  4. I mean, they could put it in the same spot they put Hobbs and Shaw in last year. First week of August works very well for these kinds of movies and it could even have a leggier run like Hobbs and Shaw did.
  5. Guns Akimbo is absolute garbage. Funniest part of the movie is that the main character bullies people online as a form of "online vigilantism" just like the director of the movie did in real life. Every stylistic choice is garbage, the action has some of the worst editing I've seen in ages, and its attempt at social commentary is pathetic. Seriously feels like a movie made by a 13 year old (filled with "edgy humor", Doom 2016 references, and EDM music).
  6. You probably need a look in the mirror before you say Elisabeth Moss looks ugly (she isn't really beautiful but she's definitely not ugly and probably better looking than you). Also, the movie is sci-fi.
  7. Damn, PTA even shot the album cover for the new HAIM album. Seems like he's not just directing music videos for them but is in charge of the whole visuals department for the band. Also I think it would be great if HAIM does music for the new PTA movie.
  8. I mean over 50 new cases in 24 hours seems pretty bad to me, espescially considering exponential growth and all.
  9. Considering that women loved the movie too according to posttrak, I think it would have been better if WB didn't force Yan and Robbie to make it PG-13 but just targeted it towards women instead of girls.
  10. I don't think Next Goal Wins is gonna be a big Oscar player. I think Neon will try to push Moss hard for Shirley. When so many actors win Oscars for acting in crappy biopics (like Renee Zellweger winning this year), Moss should at least get nominated for having a great performance in a great movie like Shirley (which I think is a biopic, or is it a fictional story about Shirley Jackson?).
  11. Welp, I completely forgot to vote for this. Either way, hope Knives Out wins Best Picture/Film.
  12. I've seen people conflate boxoffice with quality way too many times (mostly on r/boxoffice) and its not just dumb but also pretty insulting to the people who worked on the film. I hope when the modern day studio system collapses (which I think is happening soon), that this "pervasive mindset" dies along with it.
  13. So you gonna be comparing every movie to BoP for the rest of the year?
  14. I doubt The Invisible Man is doing 125 mil DOM. More like 90-100 mil, unless A Quiet Place 2 severely underperforms.
  15. This movie should be making zero dollars. Literally the worst kids film in about a decade. I have no clue why parents are taking their kids to this movie when the kids are likely losing brain cells watching this. At least take them to Sonic which, although is utterly mediocre, is harmless fun.
  16. Almost all of them. Only big markets it has left are Brazil and Russia. I'd say 75 mil OS total.
  17. Yep, that was the most horrifying part for me. Also I can never look at alpacas the same way ever again. I agree the rest of the movie is not that good but I had fun watching it.
  18. Cage isn't very good in this but I thought it was more a feature than a drawback. His wacky performance fits well in this pretty wacky movie. Cage legit does a Trump impression a lot of times in the movie and its hilarious.
