  1. People aren't gonna go back to cinemas as soon as they reopen lol. You really think they'll prioritise the next Marvel movie over their own health?
  2. I think most studios are waiting for Mulan before making a decision. I think WB might even end up waiting to see how Black Widow performs before delaying WW1984.
  3. Read more about this and holy shit, Germany is handling this very well. Zero deaths with almost 800 cases now is amazing. Guess having an incredibly well-funded healthcare system helps.
  4. No direct competition this weekend so any drop below 50% was likely imo. Hope it doesn't drop hard when AQP 2 releases.
  5. @TMP seems like millenial and boomer audiences found The Way Back too depressing. WoM is mixed.
  6. And it still misses 8 mil with an optimistic Sunday drop. I'm thinking more like 90% Sat + 35% Sun.
  7. Lol, what's Deadline smoking? Sonic isn't crossing 8 mil with a 1.78 mil Friday. It's more likely that it doesn't even cross 7 mil with that number.
  8. @RealLyre I looked back at Coen Brothers' production schedule for their last two movies and it does seem like Macbeth won't release this year. Most likely releasing at Cannes next year I guess.
  9. 700 cases in Germany and will reach 1000 tomm. How come there is no impact at all?
  10. The biggest animated opening weekend of all time isn't a big opening? How about Toy Story 4, Finding Dory, and Inside Out? Even Coco and Cars 3 had ok openings.
  11. Lol did you just copy what @Arendelle Legion said on reddit and changed Coco 2 to Finding Nemo 3?
  12. I mean John Lasseter literally used to be the CCO of WDAS. Of course they have been working closely together for years. I doubt WDAS would be in the same position they are if Disney hadn't bought Pixar.
  13. Animation usually does pretty well where I live though. Spies in Disguise ran longer than Star Wars TROS for example. Remember sitting in full screenings for Frozen 2 and TS4 too.
  14. Lmao, Onward got cancelled here last minute because of the LGBTQ character. I've lived in this country for almost 10 years now and this has never happened. The really, really odd thing is that It Chapter 2 and Birds of Prey got releases eventhough both had explicity LGBTQ characters (they did cut the kiss in the former though). I honestly can't wait to leave this place (moving to America later this year).
  15. I think 10-11 mil sounds right if that 3 mil holds. I think walkups might be better than expected though with good reviews and the more walkup heavy older audience the movie has been targeting (if I remember Call of the Wild managed to do better than what morning presales suggested too).
  16. I mean kids seem to recover so much more easily than adults and make up only 1% of the cases in China.
  17. There's a huge difference between HTTYD 3 and the latter two. Just in terms of the environments, water effects, and lighting, Frozen 2 and Toy Story 4 blew away any other animated movie released last year. TS4 cost more because Pixar actually develops their own technology for their animation (part of the reason why so many people, me included, would love to work for Pixar's tech division) while WDAS just uses Pixar's tech.
  18. Watched Parasite again. Realised that I really need to rewatch the pre-2010 Bong Joon Ho movies. Been at least 4 years since I last saw Memories of a Murder, The Host, and Mother. Never seen Barking Dogs Never Bite so I guess its time I watch that. I wonder if I like Parasite more than his older movies because of recency bias (it probably is).
  19. @TMP hacked into youtube servers to make it seem like Scoob has no hype?
