  1. Putting Weekly numbers of Frozen II and Demon Slayer projections. Frozen II Demon Slayer Projections The like and like week will be Frozen II 2nd week and DS's 7th.
  2. IIRC Frozen 2 was very ordinary in weekdays across world. Weekend jumps were huge.
  3. Best of 2020 for me so far. Loved it. Dialogues are so well written, editing and screenplay is well paced. 8/8.
  4. Even Canada is doing better than US. Canada has done C$14mn Approx, which usually would mean $110mn Approx North America box office.
  5. Japanese films in China to Taiwan ratio. For sake of consistency I will be using CNY vs NT$. That won't give the real idea of how big the gross in China was in real terms but help in escaping the exchange rate difference. The usual ¥~NT$4.1-4.4, so a Weathering With You's 1.74x is around 7-8 times Taiwan in China. Of course best way is to do admits comparison, but data ain't fully available. In order of biggest grossers in China Your Name - ¥575mn vs $244mn - 2.35x (20.9x in admits) in 2016 Doraemon Stand By Me - ¥530mn vs $50mn Approx - 10.6x in 2015 The above two are old, so new ones... Weathering With You - ¥289mn vs $165mn - 1.74x (13.6x in admits) in 2019 Detective Conan: The Fist of Blue Sapphire - ¥232mn vs 109mn - 2.12x (16x in admits) in 2019 One Piece Stampede - ¥205mn vs $54mn - 3.78x (29x in admits) in 2019 Just for consideration; Dragon Ball Super: Broly - ¥32mn vs $25mn - 1.28x (12.5x in admits) in 2019 (Here tickets in Taiwan seems very expensive, admits ratio is in range of Weathering with You. Even using the smallest of the lot, i.e. 12.5x in admits, we may be looking at 20-25mn admits in China, i.e. atleast ¥650-800mn gross in China. @Gavin Feng @A Marvel Fanboy @Olive any word on its release date and if Demon Slayer is popular enough to get 20mn admits in China.
  6. I think ever since it become clear that it will reach 35B in Japan & strengthening of Yen, crossing 800 is almost likely. What needs to be seen is if just Japan + Taiwan + China can do it.
  7. Actuals are even better with, NT$109,223,000 weekend, just 7% down from last week. Need confirmation on dailies in weekend, because Taipei city fell around 20% during weekend, mostly on Friday, which was down 50%, Saturday and Sunday were 8% down. In current estimates, 2nd Saturday and Sunday may be higher than First weekend, and Saturday being its biggest day yet. Though take that with micro piece of salt. 11. BOM only report the actual worldwide if officially reported to them. Their worldwide gross for non-Hollywood films aren't actuals. Parasite crossed $300mn worldwide, Mojo would have it at only $250mn something.
  12. Seems like ¥860mn Sunday and ¥1.66bn weekend (-34%). Total ¥20.28Bn ($193.6mn). Let's see what actuals are tomorrow. For now thinking ¥3Bn 4th week, which keeps it on ¥35Bn route but ¥38Bn may be tough.
  13. The Eight Hundred till 05th November 2020 China - $452.06mn North America - $0.37mn Hong Kong - $0.35mn Australia - $0.25mn Singapore and Malaysia - $0.4mn New Zealand - $0.06mn Europe - $0.05mn Total - $453.54mn
  14. Demon Slayer will cross $194mn in Japan tomorrow, may be $195mn. Combined with $8-8.5mn Approx in Taiwan till Sunday, will cross $200mn worldwide. Will cross ¥20Bn worldwide today.
  15. First major drop weekly. Friday 50% down from previous week. May be ¥1.7Bn 4th weekend.
  16. off the head, too much narration/exposition say whatever in dialogues. two, I wasn't getting any emotional connect with anime. I like animes, even connected really well with Shinkai films, anime-action, I just can't.
  17. So I watched two episodes of Demon Slayer. Definitely not my cup of tea.
  18. Yes. 38% week on week drop, but totally fine after a discount day + holiday. Thursday too shall be 30% or so, Friday & Sat may be bit better.
