  1. ICYMI, most of you did. Will get numbers for CM as earliest as 7AM PT, Friday.
  2. These websites are bunch of jokes tbh. One, I don't give a shit about tracking anymore (even non-working clock is right twice a day by fluke). Two not even bother to read international projection. ffs they were predicting $250mn roof for international weekend for IW when it was crystal clear that it ain't doing less than $350mn. Now Captain Marvel shall do $250mn range and the best they are projecting is $200mn? Not even? Comparing with BP, this gonna make $90-100mn China $27-30mn Korea $7mn India These 3 totals $125-137mn, while BP did $94mn. I don't know about pre-sales in other Asian markets, but BP did around $40mn and this will do atleast $50mn in them. Atleast. The Asia alone will be $175-190mn compared to $135mn BP did, leaving to match $100mn in rest of world. Say CM is 20% behind BP, which it shouldn't be, it still will be $255-275mn.
  3. Captain Marvel T-2 Days Out Previews: ¥4.6mn Friday: ¥29.6mn (+41%) Saturday: ¥13.2mn Sunday: ¥5.1mn Total: ¥52.5mn or $7.84mn (+40%) Comps https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/14veIao3B3dsFN11hxTEdpCgqkrdb9fq2PX3HiNH060s/edit?usp=drivesdk Tuesday was ¥8.6mn, just below Civil War ¥9.1mn. If it add similar number as Civil War, final PS will be ¥70mn.
  4. Captain Marvel is looking to post the highest non-Avengers opening for a superhero film in India going by the pre-sales. Might even cross Age of Ultron. The best superhero openers in the spoilers.
  5. Was expected from China. That's why was not on $200mn train yet. I am mentally ready for a Black Panther. China like fun and action films, frankly speaking I was surprised with pre-sales. Anyways ¥225mn plus opening day seems like will happen anyways. That could mean film ain't mediocre.
  6. HTTYD 3 down just 23% from its First Monday. Total now $99.5mn, will cross $100mn on Tuesday morning show.
  7. Monday Numbers How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World: $1.81mn Tyler Perry's A Madea Family Funeral: $1.7mn Alita: Battle Angel: $0.65mn LEGO 2: $0.4mn Green Book: $0.39mn Greta: $0.36mn FWMF: $0.35mn Isn't it Romantic: $0.35mn WMW: $0.24mn ASIB: $0.22mn
  8. I wish so, but not happening anytime soon and that when the footfalls are dropping every year.
  9. Just checked there was a Transformers as well. In my head, I had Winter Soldier as best 2014 opener. Sorry.
  10. Preview to opening day make more sense as Saturday and Sunday behave differently depending on WOM and when the film is releasing. Said that,
  11. Alright, here's my final prediction (for Monday :P) Previews: $22mn True Friday: $47mn Saturday: $60mn Sunday: $44mn Total: $173mn
  12. Hong Kong is one as well. @salvador-232 track Chile. I had sources for India 2 months back, I left tracking Indian Box office, so had to 🎵let them go🎵
  13. Assuming the film play as the following 4 comps on their next 4 days and then translating the Thursday to previews give some really big numbers. Look at yourself. Black Panther 32950 33,762 37,140 60,873 $ 23,483,234 Avengers: Infinity War 32950 36,293 45,506 136,201 $ 25,785,577 Deadpool 2 32950 41,157 58,699 89,732 $ 26,492,176 Venom 32950 33,473 50,549 76,474 $ 24,224,379
  14. For record added 31.7k till 13:00. Say it added most of this amount in last 4 hours, with 11 hours more to go, I expect around 110-120k for a final of 455-465k.
  15. Expecting 2 Days Out ¥30.50 1 Day Out ¥44.00 Final ¥77.00 Midnight ¥15mn Opening Day ¥260mn Saturday ¥280mn Sunday ¥220mn Total ¥775mn
  16. If, feminism worked for the film. I won't be surprised with 9.2 plus. Currently over 60% of tickets sold are male and that should go toward 50% on opening day IMO as Women's day will be there and there we could see a jump in walk-ins. From the Indian films I tracked, I have noticed that films having more female Audience had better legs.
  17. Pre-sales today have added ¥1.3mn in same time as it added ¥1.1mn yesterday. That's roughly 20% up. For comps, Venom did ¥6.91mn on Tuesday and Civil War did ¥9.1mn. If that +20% holds, will have ¥7.9mn Tuesday, though I expect it to increase, so we could see ¥8.75-9.25mn IMO.
  18. I was checking the Fandango data from @CoolEric258 sheet. Captain Marvel had sold 59,612 tickets during 18-60 days. BP data ain't available for over 17 days. Since then, CM to BP ratio has been 17-12: 31% 11-5: 67% And Monday is looking like 87%. Now Black Panther had shorter pre-sale time so it was obviously gonna lead in that mid part of sales i.e. from the initial comps. Overall pre-sales in absolute number should be close to 80-85% as it will be in its final stage. I don't know if I was stating the obvious but Fandago tells a $160-170mn weekend
  19. Just wake up now. I don't know if I am supposed to tell that but Avatar is still biggest grosser in Canada in USD. Not in C$ though.
  20. So a ¥6.55mn Monday before release in pre-sales. That's absolutely massive. Almost 50% more than what Civil War did. Assuming it just match the exact number of CW from here, we willl have ¥71mn of pre-sales or a better case, if it goes with same % change as Venom it will be ¥74mn Approx. But a big point, it still has just 73k shows as compared to 83k of Venom, it's gains could be bigger and if reviews are positive may explode as well. I just checked, Infinity War did ¥13mn on Monday and ¥93mn after that, that's a notch above 7x. If Captain Marvel do that, final pre-sales will be ¥68mn Approx. Venom did 8.9x, that would be a ¥58mn from here to ¥79mn. Civil War did 11.25x, that would be an absurd ¥95mn. Cutting the crap, Venom may be the case.
