  1. It opened on a Monday for some reason (no holidays) and did AUD 6.97 million in 3 days. Homecoming had a traditional Thursday opening and did 10.83 million in its first 4 days. So...idk
  2. I'm going by the 26.5 million Friday estimate which would imply about a 170 million opening, just 10% above Homecoming. That's what I'm saying is an unusually low increase given the holiday. Other established markets are more like +30% or so, and Endgame was a big breakout in the US as well so I would expect it to have an effect. The movie will have a great increase WW so I'm not too bothered, it's just a weird curiosity.
  3. It's getting good bumps in SK and Japan where Spidey has always been one of the strongest SH franchises, even in Europe it's opening well above Homecoming. The US is pretty much the only market where the opening has this small of a bump.
  4. It's getting a great bump internationally though across Europe, LA, and Asia so I feel like there has to be some domestic only factor. Don't know what that would be though.
  5. So this is performing 20-40% better than Homecoming in pretty much every international market (with worse ER no less) but it's looking like maybe 10% ahead DOM even with a holiday boost? Very odd
  6. Audience ratings are very good by most metrics. A lot of people in BOT seem to dislike the teen comedy aspects but general audiences seem to enjoy them. I enjoyed them a lot
  7. Endgame Infinity War GOTG2/FFH (see where it settles on a rewatch) Civil War Black Panther Homecoming Ragnarok Captain Marvel AMATW Doctor Strange (this movie was ok but the only one that I was disappointed with)
  8. Yeah, I like the sympathetic villains as much as anyone but it's good to also have 100% assholes like him. I don't think he's dead though.
  9. The bullets missing was annoying, I was hoping for more illusion fighting instead of the drones although there were some pretty cool moments in the drone fight. I didn't have such a big issue with the Spidey sense part as I took the "failure" of it earlier in the movie to be reflective of Peter not wanting to accept his responsibility as Spiderman, very similar to what happened to him in Spiderman 2
  10. Had to do a partial data check of FFH today since I will be on vacation until Monday. From 89 theaters sales for tomorrow are 30758 tickets vs 31886 for today at the same point, but estimated $ sales are $317k for tomorrow from those theaters vs $305k today at the same point due to less matinee loading. The showings count is also somewhat greater for tomorrow so I would expect better walk-ins for sure. I think we will see a decent-sized bump.
  11. The thread throughout the movie was Peter rejecting his responsibilities as Spiderman in order to have his own life (similar to Spiderman 2), and then being forced to realize that he can't shirk that responsibility. And Homecoming, IW and Endgame show that Tony has a bit of a paternal view of Peter and feels really guilty about his death so I think it makes sense that he would want to give Peter whatever help he can.
