    Not that ii think it's going to happen but I can't even believe that it's now a possibility although still very small that Guardians underperforms like Ant Man. This is crazy.

    Jeremy Jahns likes it. All that matters. He is one of the few critics in tune with the GP.

    True but JW is a different kind of long. Your heart shouldn't be elevated for 3 plus hours.

    This clip has literally hyped me up more than anything I have seen for this film. It looks like such a love letter to the fans of the IP.

    It's not really comparable to Veterans day at all though which is a federal holiday.

    That Friday comp is insane when you consider Mario has two full days before to burn off demand and BP Friday was holiday.

    I don't think any of us really know. Outside of China we are all making guesses in the dark for this film overseas me thinks.

    So what is the Mario OD looking like? 30m+ ? Also I'm shocked at the GoTG presales being so slow opening day. I saw people saying it was because no trailer released with the announcement? Maybe if the presales pick up tomorrow that can be proven to be true.

    The French love Nintendo so not really surprised.

    Seems generally positive and most importantly looks like it will appeal to general audiences who aren't looking for some deep plot in a Mario film

    I think people also forget that only one Detective Pikachu trailer broke out. The second one have a very small amount of views that should have been a red flag.

    China pre sales are really picking up. This is starting to look like a global breakout.

    I don't think an MCU film should be compared to those, they are a lot more predictable than that.

    It's way too early to come to any conclusions but if the pre sales don't pick up I don't think the superhero fatigue hypothesis can be written off. These films are paying for the sins of many mediocre movies in a row and audiences might have to be won back.

    So the tracking is insane in the domestic market, but do we have any idea how it seems to be tracking everywhere else aside from China? Is it strong?

    Wow Avatar is getting really close to Ant Man despite having half the screens.

    Mario pre sales are looking insane for an animated family film tbh. I wonder if it is going to blow up even more like Minions did right at the very end. It's already seeing a very solid boost.

    I mean Mario is still going to wallop Sonic at the box office so I think their point stands.

    Reviews seem to indicate that hardcore Mario and Nintendo fans are absolutely going to love it thanks to the fanserivice while everyone else will just view it as your typical meh Illunination film. Probably a RT on the 60s which will have no impact on the box office either way and probably an A CS just like Minions.

    Yeah those diversity demos are not great tbh. I don't think this is going to have the legs we are hoping.
