    You do realize the Superhero genre isn't that big in Japan right? Aladdin is arguably the biggest Disney classic film in Japan on the other hand.

    The jury has closed. It is a flop with that budget and this kind of opening.

    I kind of agree. Just have a hard time seeing this making so much less than Beauty and the Beast when the original Aladdin was more popular than the original Beautym

    8m would be an amazing number for Us. Its basically had the best of both worlds compared to its comps so far with a great Monday drop similar to the drops A Quiet Place and Get Out had and now a huge Tuesday jump that Halloween and The Nun got after their bad Monday drops.

    It is up for debate. There is absolutely nothing that indicates that Captain Marvel would have done better in the summer especially with how jam packed it is.

    Something in my gut tells me that Aladdin is going to way overperform and have a high 70s/low 80s score. While the Lion King will be in the 90s. One of the three remakes was going to be a clear dud and I think we know which one it is now lol.

    No way it opens that high. This really is Mary Poppins all over again. The industry refuses to believe that Disney can fall on its face sometimes.

    Very strong Monday hold. Maybe word of mouth won't be as divisive as people expected.

    Reception seems really lukewarm. Kind of surprised because the trailers looked so good compared to something like Aladdin. Yet Aladdin will probably be a far superior movie ironically.

    It looks funny and charming to me. And I hated Dora as a kid.

    That doesn't take away anything from Us. Very very few horror movies are better than Hereditary.
