  1. An important thing to note is that the overseas share increased again. Now it's 33.5/66.5.
  2. Other comps for 3rd weekend drop (excluding OW in France, Germany and Argentina when applicable) Logan: -55.4% IT: -54.5% Venom: -54.1% Suicide Squad: -43,38% Wonder Woman: -37.5%
  3. And it's actually -37.9% (I was doing 77/125 before). And the weekly drop was -33% (albeit counting France and Germany) For comparison Deadpool dropped 53% on its 3rd weekend.
  4. Even a 3x is a "pretty good hold", just not enough to reach a billion (and that's still not definitive, as it could theoretically make even crazier numbers overseas). Just a month ago the idea of breaking a billion seemed impossible, so there's no disappointment. It just didn't do the "impossible".
  5. Another reason to believe it's 623M through wednesday is the fact that domestic numbers for thursday are not in yet and are not being counted. They only list the totals (409M and 623M WW, which means 214M DOM, which is through wednesday). Would they list overseas through thursday but domestic through wednesday? Maybe, but I don't think so.
  6. I think 38M through tuesday and 16M wednesday sounds more reasonable and as far as I have seen for other movies, overseas weekdays are usually counted through wednesday, not through thursday. I'm a newbie though. Is there a source for comscore?
  7. Weekdays are through wednesday right? Because a lot of countries have the "weekend" starting at thursday, and 16M wednesday is reasonable. Comparison with last week still stands.
  8. Likely already happened yesterday, if it's really 393M through tuesday.
  9. No holidays or school breaks, and none for another month. It really is holding well.
  10. Box Office Mojo takes its sweet time to list all the countries separately and update it. Although it looks like they're taking more time than usual to update for Joker.
  11. That is impressive. Most importantly I think is the fact that it represents 71% of the total BO on mon-tue, which could mean that even if Joker starts losing legs in North America, It's still doing amazing overseas. I do think it's mon-tue instead of 3 days because the domestic is also mon-tue and will only be updated later on the day. So I think they updated it to make both domestic and overseas through tuesday, not to mention it's probably too early to have the wednesday numbers all over the world.
  12. Constantine being DC's #1 at the Japanese box office really shows how strange Japan's box office is for comic book movies 😅
  13. "Even with a $138M Ang Lee-directed Will Smith action film in the market, adult moviegoers are opting for Joker, the DC villain origins film they’ve never seen before, and much of that has to do with literally the Rotten Tomatoes score: Joker‘s 68% certified fresh to Paramount/Skydance Media’s Gemini Man‘s 26% Rotten. The aggregator site is literally telling people to shell out their $15-$20/ticket for one film over the other. " Can't believe they're implying Joker's "meh" RT score is helping it or that people even care about it.
  14. I would rather not have a sequel to Joker, but if they have to do one, I would like something set in Arkham, like he's about to be lobotomized or something and then he incites the other inmates to riot, something similar to One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, maybe some Silence of the Lambs/Hannibal stuff. Then they could have a few other Batman villains in there as well. It could be a deeper dive on his psyche now that he has lost it entirely.
  15. Before we went crazy today with the pre-sales numbers, I was guessing something close to 60 million, so I'm happy. And we warned ourselves to not get excited to not let a great performance like mid 50s seem bad! lol Also, I still believe the real overperformance will be overseas. The 350m number through thursday is just speculation using the same OW share, in reality it could be significantly higher as it's been overperforming like crazy in many countries. "My goal" is still 500m by Sunday.
  16. Sure, but out of curiosity I looked up and even Dark Phoenix had a 62% increase on the 2nd friday over thursday. The better weekdays could have maybe made it go under 100% but only slightly so. Then again, the film is kinda like a wild card...
  17. 45-50M would be good for Joker but it just doesn't make any sense that Friday would only increase 55% over thursday, specially because all weekdays surpassed expectations.
  18. Theory: Deadline saw the same numbers as @keysersoze123 and @Charlie Jatinder but couldn't believe their very eyes, so they went with the conservative estimatives 😎
  19. I expected IT Chapter 2 to underperform and make significantly less than Chapter 1 (since it's basically a consensus that the adult parts of the story are the weaker part, and the "Stranger Things" trend is wearing off), and I expected Joker to make 700m. But I never told this around here so I can't prove it 😝
  20. I'm not getting my hopes high either, but it would be nice if it ended up being the first Rated R billion, because there are way too many billion movies now that it's losing value, it needs something new there 😛 My first guess when the film was announced was 700 million. I just knew the character's popularity would make it a hit. I think 700 million is practically locked now. Would be pretty awesome if it at least tops Deadpool 1/2 If it had a Chinese release like Logan had, I think the billion would happen. Although it's always hard to say how they will take any given film.
  21. And Italy and Australia, as far as I have checked. Like almost 2x the OW through thursday.
