  1. I just looked into that and by the time Avatar 2 comes 10% of the people who saw first one in theaters will be dead.
  2. EG could still win and then they rerelease avatar again and it still can be marketed
  3. And Sam L. Jackson is in each of them - easily the most succesfull actor BO-wise this year
  4. This is perfect opportunity for people to show that original movies still can earn big money.
  5. But $5m was added in years 2010-2019, because Avatar hadn't stop being in theaters all around the world (for example Czech rep had seen Avatar's re-release in 2013)
  6. I think one of the three movies will get (at least partially) fucked. Ma and Rocketman can leg it out, but Godzilla probably can't
  7. That's true, but I still think it's a non-problem. That's like saying budweiser is not making light beer (that's an example, I think they actually do), so the world is doomed. No, it isn't. There's Karlsberg and other companies that do make light beer. The world is just fine.
  8. If you take movies 2-20 it's $1.512b and $1.039b respectively. But we still don't have proper numbers for EG (either it's gross, could be anything from 2680-2750, I took 2700, or yearly gross).
  9. Thanks, I didn't know that. So, do we know the highest-grossing really original live-action film? edit: Independence Day and it not then E.T.
  10. btw highest grossing original live-action film is Inception at place 74 (and no, Titanic - real life events and Avatar - fern gully/Pocahontas/Dancing with the Wolves - aren't original)
  11. They are the biggest BECAUSE they are doing this. Original work isn't rewarded in current cultural climate. They are just following the money (and still it doesn't always work - Chris Robin, Alice 2...)
  12. I am voting for banning words "Titanic", "Avatar" and "Juggernaut"
  13. Is there another MCU planned for dec 2021 that I don't know of?
