Almost all vip ( think alamo type seating ) is either sellouts or near. Things wlll fill in nicely and thursday is prolly hard to get ticket. And then we wait to see what if any effect TLJ has on overall sales.

    Torontp is interesting. Vip selling out, imax doing well but regular seating hit or miss depending on area. i do toronto proper but if i did gta: scarborough, the hills, markham, mississauga variations could be interesting (amd doubling seat count from 14000 to close to 30000 😨) Generally toronto seems to follow US city trends...but it can surprise

A month out and over 40 percent sold. Pretty good all told. Certainly keeping a decent pace. Will be interesting if it picks up more after frozen as families try to figure budgets. Might see more sales after bulk have seen frozen.

    Frozen 2 should be interesting. Its aimed at kids so i wasnt sure thrus previews would say a lot. The weekend will be very interesting.

    Doctor sleep is interesting. What 8im reading is is plays less like a horror movie and more like a character study and a mental journey for the main character. Be interesting to see what type of viewers it garners. In that vein id love to see girl who loved Tom Gordon movie.

    Its something im always torn on. How much to talk about how i see an opening doing. If i feel a movie will have a slow ir good opening weekend, i try to word it in a way that doesnt denote overall success for the film. Other threads discuss that. It gets tricky sometimes. Is part of the reason why inlike how once a movie has its opening this thread switches to next opening film, leaving discussions for films and successin the appropriate threads.

    When i was doing star wars and terminator numbers at same time i was stunned at difference between movie 3 days away vs 2 months away in star wars favor. It was juat incredible to see.

Is that a thing now....where movies are made with stuff like a list in mind and hoping people Use the alist to see their movie as a cheap ticket and get money that way or just wait for netflix licencing? Thats certainly a different interesting way of going for revenue.
