So I decided to put up Friday numbers-have a head banging session coming on when they put in more screens. The blank spots are where no doubt more seats/screens will probably be inserted by Cineplex. There were two sellouts that I didn't even have a reference for how many seats normally were sold from previous shows in the same block. I think it might the difference of 200-300 additional sales, for approximate reasons.

So it seems Cineplex seems to wanting to mess with my mental state-basically looks like they are adding seats to certain screens (the huh comments are a couple of examples), so if suddenly seats available jumped up, Im thinking that Cineplex really is going by percentage of how many are in theatres, and not per screen-that's my guess anyway. Overall Shang Chi is having healthy growth by day. Seems theres a push to get out to theatres. Seeing as Shang Chi is Theatre only not streaming/theatre, be interesting to see if indeed those numbers as they come out.

I post the latter just for reference as some like those numbers, mainly due to fact that number available keeps shrinking due to covid distance restrictions. When day comes that full seating is allowed again, I may drop that number, but it seems some people like it for reference. Also a note-yonge town I actually did a dupe last time, the 3dbox numbers were duped so I removed those this time. I have definitively decided to wait until next week to start doing friday numbers, because Cineplex dumps a ton of new theatres in around tues/wed of the week of opening, kind of totally muddying the waters for the counters. Don't know if this works better for those who like to see individual theatre counts but there you go. Yes I said Id do it later but I thought Id give you A Thursday because you're all a bunch of great guys and gals Im really hesitant to start posting friday advance sales until the week of because the theatres decide to dump a TON of new screens in when Im not looking. I mean I can do fridays now if you want, if it helps matters.

Okay with some surprise seeing that Cineplex is selling advance tickets now for Shang Chi. That's good news. Ive got stuff going today and tomorrow but hopefully Friday I can start tracking for Toronto

Give it time for movies: "Avengers Another Infinity War in the Multiverse" opens to a disappointing 700 million opening weekend, Box Office pundits are shocked. "We expected at least 800 opening weekend, I mean Infinity War did a billion, such a massive disappointment"

Okay so Shang Chi doesn't open till Sept 3rd in US/North America? Ill keep an eye out this week to see if we start to get presales this early in Toronto. Will try to fit in whatever info I can. This week another crazy real life week, though FINALLY get some rest next week onward so hopefully tracking on my end is easier

Its been a busy week after the weekend, I have not had time to catch up on anything, and got crud ton of stuff this week. Don't know if Ill be doing Free Guy this week, just too much going on, don't know if Toronto sales will make that much dent one way or other for Free Guy. Will definitely start following Shang Chi once tickets go on sale next week.

How many R rated movies debuted during pandemic, these "best of" titles as we've gone on are really really reaching for finding to be the "best" of something with incredibly specific conditions. I mean whats next? "Best debut of a film that has 3 lead males, 2 lead females, filmed in between April and November that had 10 thunderstorms"?

Just focussed on increased sales per theatre.

For those following the incredibly exciting news of whats going on in Ontario, Ontario talking about post stage 3, meetings requirements of percentages. But heres the slightly confusing bit. They are saying that capacity limits will be lifted when we leave stage three. Mask requirements still will be in effect Alright fine, BUT, in the same news, they also say places that involve things like working out, eating (restaurants, theatres I would assume), when taking off mask, that when not wearing mask people will be required to still keep social distancing, or have barriers. So, IMO, this tells me that either Theatres will have to continue to restricted seating, or they start putting barriers beside seats, which would be kind of weird. Hard to say till we get there, but possiblity even coming out of stage 3 theatres may still have some distancing/restrictions in place, therefore not having full seating.

Ive just included them as part of the overall count. I only count 1 show when I see the box/non dbox when they have exact same seat count and starting times. So I'm happy to hear Ive been doing it right all along

Dbox screws me up when I do Toronto because even though there are two "listings" for same show time, both dbox and non don't discriminate between seats sold (IE It says x sold, x available total seats, there is no "dbox sales only" numbers that I can find). I mean if it helps I can manually count the dbox tickets sold (like literally count seats) if that helps
