  1. Warner Bros was too nice. Wachowski should have been removed from the matrix franchise after the first sequel, despite that they got a string of high-budget movies greenlit and like all of them failed.
  2. Its funny how for "global opening weekend" the weekend is from tuesday to sunday internationally, but for counting the drop the weekend becames FSS.
  3. Not buying it. The whole week wasnt great. On tuesday it was because of discounts deals hurting the numbers, friday people hoped for atleast 20m it didnt reach that and like thanksgiving weekend the movies reached high-end of tracking. I was hoping for over endgame dom, but its pretty clear that demanded is burning out fast.
  4. WB was the one still putting movies in theaters atleast to a time where Disney ether put with PVOD or just making them Disney+ exclusive. And Matrix Ressurections is not an event movie, its on the pile of unnecessary shitty legacy sequels.
  5. Basically WB should have tricked the audience that Matrix 4 isnt shit and after that it wouldnt matter anymore because it would have made enough money.
  6. With the praises the trailer got, i assumed its an new one, but thats nearly the same as the one in theaters. Its an okay trailer, dont know how people expected if they are blown away by this.
  7. If NWH would be trainwreck like eternals, we would have over hundred articles already about the death of the MCU and superhero genre.
  8. Its nearly at 400m, 4,4m ww week, so around 2m international for the whole week. So 405m ww end.
  9. Venom 2 had an 19% drop from last week on wednesday and a 72% drop from thursday to thursday, so unlikely that it gives a boost. It also lost more than half of its theaters.
  10. Flint and Lizard were both probably never on set, would also explain why Flint is always in his sandman form. I dont know if DS2 will be a consequence of this story, because it would make Peters sacrifice in this movie less impactful.
  11. Not a evil thing is debatable, even if the people who Venom overtook didnt died. Overall he doesnt have be his archnemesis, let them fight because of a misunderstanding, maybe Venom is trying to eat people because its not his reality anyway and before Toms stops him Spider-Man sees it, maybe Venom and Tom get seperated and Spider-Man sees Venom as an invader before they reunite or they are playing the lethal protector because they think Spider-Man is a threat like it was implied in the post-credit scenes. In the middle they reconcile and Venom fights with the Spider-Mans in the end. The dialogue is writting itself with the different space/venom/monster experience of the 3 spider-mans, they could even recreate the surf the web scene from the sm1 game. Fllint didnt get cured in SM3. He is now just some unknown guy for the and for a crappy apartment in the city, people dont ask you about your CV.
  12. Spider-man is not forgotten, its comic book logic, but its like Peter never existed. I have honestly no idea how the memories of his friends were retconned, do they remember the events with him just in a different way or are all events which included him as spider-man deleted? They basically just straight up rebooted Spider-Man in universe. Though i am concerned what they are gonna do with that now, its a great idea having "normal" street spider-man again, but this isnt really what the MCU was building up with eternals and multiverses, so i hope they still keep him low-level. Honestly i would have fucking loved Venom in this movies, he would already be easy to integrate in the story and would play great with the other characters and in the action scenes.
  13. Definitely the best MCU spiderman, overall one of the best MCU movies (for me the best, didnt watch all though), and up there with Spiderman 1/2, imo. Not all emotional notes hit, dialogue/exposition could be better and sometimes its like "because the scripts say so moments. But overall its awesome, most jokes land, the action is great and the story and character arcs are surprisingly well thought out. They (mostly) work, i was fully expecting a fanfare just to show off some nostalgia. Of course its full of nostalgia but it uses it to progress the story and characters to the highpoints of the whole franchise. Important scenes have room to breathe, the highschool part is kept to a minimum and the community type humour where several jokester are on screen and they spill their one-liners, is also toned down noticeably. This were my biggest problems with Homecoming and to a lesser extent ffh.
  14. Does it open in all (important) markets except china this weekend?
  15. Rewatchting the Spider-man movies, the MCUness after the others hits you like a dumbtruck. Every character in the highschool is like this quirky clever jokester like its an community episode, scene to not have room to breathe even goods ones just have to be interrupted by a joke and they made aunt may hot which is kinda the only character trait she has, because they are clearly wanting that Stark is the only mentor figure.
  16. The dance is still embarassing thats kinda the point though, but the movie is also not sure if it wants to portray emo peter as cool or creepy. Rewatchting the raimi trilogy, i started disliking MJ, she is the damsel in distress, thats okay, its like the point of superheroes that villain will attack the ones closest to them, but alone in the first two movies she is basically only interest in peter still dating 3 other guys leaving the last one even at the wedding. Its okay making her helpless against the villains but she should be less "horny". Spider-Verse is not just good because of the animations, but its also the dialogue, banter, characters and the story and marvel movies are 90% cgi anyway, they are one actors strike away from being animated.
  17. The only reason i know what Nomadland won is because marvel fans couldnt shut up about that a oscar winner is making their next mediocrity. Nobody gives a shit about the game awards ether its just about the trailer and new announcements, like if they would premier the next Avengers trailer in the oscars the ratings would be also higher. Honestly the game awards are even more disrespectful to the winners than most of other awards shows. There are dozens of awards show for everything and the only reason people are watching is to get somekind of confirmation bias about the media they consume.
  18. The Nov MCU 3rd weekend drops comes from the competetion - Thor the dark world had Hunger games opening to 160m, Ragnarok had Justice League and Wonder and Doctor Strange had fantastic beast in its 3rd weekend with an 76m(?) opening. With Thor: TDW true FSS multiplier Eternals would end up at 157m, with the overall multiplier of 2,41 at 171m. Though the legs are still worse, holiday can help, but 170m seems to be the ceiling. 160m+ most likely.
  19. In germany the franchise is known but not popular. Many know who the ghostbusters are, from countless references of american media (Simpsons, family guy...), reruns on TV, the cartoon which run weekends and so on. But thats it, like a bunch of franchises we know about it because its popular in the US.
  20. oh man you are right, the mcu version is from 2008, than i got nothing. Hulk 2003 is as much appreciated as Daredevil and Catwoman.
