  1. I thought the way they brought the Internet to life was clever and cool. And of course, that Disney princess scene is one of the funniest spoofs in years. I died of laughter when Merida spoke. But the story, the dynamic between the characters, and their rash decisions were frustrating at times. Also, I can't be the only one that finds Ralph and Vanellope's friendship a little creepy at times. Still, a fun movie overall, and visually dazzling. B
  2. Last movie I saw in theaters before the pandemic. I didn't have super high expectations for it so I think that helped me enjoy it. A pretty good family friendly flick to pass the time. B
  3. A+ Finding Nemo A: Toy Story 1, 2, & 3 A Bug's Life Monsters, Inc. Ratatouille WALL-E Inside Out Coco A-: The Incredibles 1 & 2 Up Toy Story 4 Onward B+ Brave Finding Dory B: Monsters University: The Good Dinosaur: Meh: I watched part of Cars 2 and hated it so I haven't yet bothered with the other 2.
  4. Overall, a great film. Beautifully animated with lovable characters and an emotional ending. Love the magical themes, the quirkiness, the bond between the brothers, the adventure element. It's not the best Pixar movie but for me it was as entertaining as many in the top tier, and I love seeing original content from a studio that's relied too much on sequels in the past dedace.
  5. I've only seen 14 movies released in 2019. Will watch Joker soon. 1. Avengers: Endgame 9 2. Spider-Man: Far From Home 9 3. Frozen II 9 4. Toy Story 4 9 5. Hustlers 8 6. How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World 8 7. Aladdin 8 8. Jumanji: The Next Level 8 9. Dragon Ball Super: Broly 8 10. Good Boys 7 11. Captain Marvel 7 12. Shazam! 7 13. Pokemon Detective Pikachu 6 14. The Lion King 5
  6. Not as big as I was expecting (140m+) but still a great start. Though I still think it would have opened higher had it come out 2-3 years after the original instead of 6.
  7. Joker looking to end with 3.4-3.6 x opening weekend, impressive!
  8. Opening 3-Day Weekend: $141,000,000 Domestic Total: $489,000,000 OS Total: $923,000,000 Worldwide Total: $1,412,000
  9. LBR we all took this site for granted. What a shame though. I mean, I knew this was coming eventually...but, to have it sprung upon us so abruptly without warning is bad enough, without taking into account all the things that are wrong with it and all the data that is missing. RIP
  10. TS4 killing it. Impressive for a fourth franchise entry that nobody really asked for.
  11. I'm kinda glad TLK isn't holding spectacularly. Disney really could have done so much better... It will still make tons of cash, no doubt. But watching it lose steam a little quicker than expected is satisfying.
  12. 12th straight day of TS4 beating TS3. Should also have a higher weekend. Endgame holding on strong. Coming for $860m DOM / $2.8b WW.
  13. LK -12% ($275.24m total) FFH -9% ($332.23m total) TS4 -5% ($385.73m total) Crawl -6% Aladdin -7% Yesterday -15% Stuber -18% Annabelle -12% Endgame -1% SLOP2 -14% Midsommar -19%
  14. Pretty boring numbers... Avengers with a nice hold though.
  15. Go TS4! Passed Revenge of the Sith, Finding Nemo, and HP8 on Tuesday 👏 Aladdin with another million $ weekday, nice!
  16. A So underrated when compared to other Pixar films. Easily one of my favorite childhood films. It's funny, clever, charming, has a great score, the characters are lovable and memorable, and it was incredibly animated for its time.
  17. Saw TLK last night in 3D. It was okay, passable enough as a remake but it definitely lacked the charm of the original. I echo the sentiments that it was too serious and the technological achievements with the CGI were at the expense of genuine emotional depth. The characters looked so wooden when trying to convey emotion. Plus, there were few genuine laughs in this. Still, there's enough to enjoy for the nostalgia. I just don't know how much of an impact it will have with those that never saw the original. So it remains to be seen what kind of legs this will have after the initial buzz dies down a bit. Lack of direct competition will help at least. My least favorite of the 9 films I've seen in theaters this year. Didn't hate it, but didn't love it. The Jungle Book and Aladdin are miles ahead as far as the recent Disney remakes. I even enjoyed Beauty & the Beast more.
  18. Strange point to bring up now though; not like we're seeing a bunch of minorities in starring roles cast solely for the sake of diversity right now. Is this because of The Little Mermaid? Lol.
  19. By Sunday TS4 will zoom past the unadjusted grosses of Shrek 3, Minions, and Zootopia. Hopefully it can beat Frozen's 400.7 million, then for a spot in the top 5 ever for animation it'll have to pass....TS3. Should get quite close, if LK doesn't steal away all the family audience.
  20. So will Spider-Man's unadjusted domestic gross finally be dethroned? (Meant to post this in Tuesday's thread, my bad).
  21. Update, July 21: 1. Avengers: Endgame 2. Spider-Man: Far From Home 3. Toy Story 4 4. How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World 5. Aladdin 6. Dragon Ball Super: Broly 7. Captain Marvel 8. Shazam! 9. The Lion King I liked all of them, but TLK was easily my least favorite.
