With how dismal Aquaman 2's tracking is looking, you never know. Warner could get desperate and lock the trailer to that movie in a bid to boost its opening weekend. Even with their lack of faith in it it'll still be their biggest movie of the season between Wonka looking like a disappointment and The Colour Purple being dead overseas.

I have no words. This is truly one of a kind as far as megaflops go. On a more positive note, great opening for Godzilla there! I'm sure it'll give Warner and Legendary the morale boost they need as they kick off marketing for their own new Godzilla movie tonight. Hopefully this'll encourage foreign distributors to start pursuing Minus One. I'd love to see this in theaters but we still don't have an official release announced here in Turkey. Fingers crossed it doesn't just get dumped on a streaming service!

It's nice to hear them learn the right lessons from the last movie's reception. To Michael Dougherty's credit he tried to boost the monster rampage too, but he got too ambitious and bogged it down with all that conspiracy and ecoterrorism bullshit. Hopefully Wingard gets to do a solo Godzilla movie in the near future, and we get the movie King of the Monsters should've been.

Deadpool is an institution all of his own. Even if the larger Marvel universe collapses like we're all expecting it to, characters like him and Spider-Man are so big that they can continue to thrive on their own. So even if one is feeling burnt on Marvel, I imagine they'll still be excited for Deadpool 3, because it's still Ryan Reynolds's beloved Deadpool complete with the same writers as before.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 | December 20, 2024

They can even get away with not having him here, as Shadow with the assistance of Stone should be more than enough, especially with the latter character receiving a decent following. -

It's unclear at the moment. With the movie in actual production we should find out soon enough. -
So are they skipping CCXP after all? With all the turmoil going on in Marvel it makes sense they'd dodge the convention scene for a while. I'm not sure if they'll even bother with Comic-Con next year with Deadpool 3 being the only item of note they have. I can see them holding off on officially confirming the cast until the trailer gets released with Disney's Mufasa next Christmas and just letting the trades break the news and do the dirty work until then. The Black Widow movie was well into filming when they formally announced it, and they didn't even mention Werewolf by Night by a word until a D23 event less than two months beforehand.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 | December 20, 2024

I'm referring to his origins more than anything. Especially his desire for vengeance. A major part of his backstory would be pretty difficult to adapt in a PG narrative. I imagine they'll change it to something less visceral that'll still result in the same outcome. Although I wouldn't mind seeing Shadow lose his shit and just mow down GUN's armies with an AK-47 or something. -

Finally! It's about time we got some updates on this now that the strikes are over. I'm glad to see the same creative team seemingly return, and considering how well Tails and Knuckles were adapted in I have faith they'll pull off Shadow too, even with the limitations set by that lucrative PG rating. I still don't think they'll quite make that December 2024 date though. I wonder if we'll hear anything at CCXP this weekend. -
Marvel has made it pretty clear they don't want any of Sony's own adaptations entering their world, as evidenced by Venom's grand entrance into the main Marvel universe lasting a whopping two months before he got kicked out. And he didn't even get to interact with any major characters, let alone his iconic nemesis. If there is to be a fight between the two, then Venom 3 is Sony's last chance for it, and it'll likely have to be their own Spider-Man either preexisting or brand new.

The big hurdle facing Kamala/Iman isn't so much herself as the baggage she has to deal with. Too few people watched her TV series, and her big break on film was marred by the movie around her being utter crap. And personally I felt she was a tad flanderized in The Marvels when compared to her TV series. So I can see why not everyone likes her, especially since that movie was most likely the first time many encountered her.

I really wish Minus One was seeing an official release here in Turkey. I'm honestly more excited for it than any of the other December tentpoles. I'm sure I'll catch it when it lands on digital, but I wish I could see that in theaters. On a more hopeful note, New Empire is among my most anticipated movies of next year alongside Deadpool 3, Dune 2 and Jonkler 2. The last movie was the best in the American franchise for significantly boosting the monster battles, and making the human portion an adventure and exploration story instead of the pretentious conspiracy and ecoterrorism bullshit from the second Godzilla movie. It also didn't overly rely on cockteasing like the first one did. Seeing Wingard return makes me hopeful this new one will work as well.

I was about to say, a lot of those reactions seem reluctant, mixing in a lot of complaints about a thin, messy plot. More of them praise Little Timmy than the actual movie. It'll probably end up in the 60s on Rotten Tomatoes, and since Wonka isn't relevant or fresh enough for today's teens and young adults that'll basically be its death sentence. If it goes past $300M worldwide I'll be very surprised.

Who's to say they won't come in and demand that the movie be reworked into a PG-13 piece in order to maximize profits after the abysmal year they've had? That movie is their last hope, and the pressure on it to deliver will be insane. I just don't see Reynolds and the rest being given R-rated luxuries anymore, not when Disney has everything to lose now. I'll be pleasantly surprised if they are given an R after all, but for the time being I'm preparing myself for an Expendables 3-style edge softening.
