There are rumours of a trailer being released next week, and with the movie already being filmed as well as the strikes no longer being an issue, it'll most likely make it to its current date. But I do agree with your general sentiment. Next year being very light on major cape fare can, if both sides play their cards right, lead to a strong rebound for them in 2025.

It still blows my mind that both the Loki finale and The Marvels hail from the same studio and were released on the exact same day. They are, in every way, polar opposites of each other. One is a beautiful, tragic tale with a crystal clear and consistent vision, stellar direction, intelligent writing, gorgeous cinematography, top of the line acting, and lovable characters that one can get strongly attached to and want to see achieve peace and happiness. The other is a Frankensteinian abomination with a wildly inconsistent vision, shoddy direction, cringeworthy writing, bland cinematography, weird acting, and one-dimensional characters who one most likely won't care all that much about. One of them is among the best moments of the franchise, while the other is its worst movie to date. The conflict of order and chaos which Loki explored is, ironically enough, a perfect representation of Marvel today.

For all her faults with the sequel trilogy, Kathleen Kennedy's decision to mostly reserve Star Wars for TV was a smart one in hindsight, especially seeing as their colleagues over at Marvel tried to go overdrive after their finale and are now paying dearly for it. As inconsistent as the Star Wars series have been, even the worst of them don't cause anywhere near the major blows and discourse Marvel's misfires do. She's likely having a lot of second thoughts about that movie lineup they announced earlier in the year now. Hopefully she'll wait for the right, the best pitch possible to bring Star Wars back to the big screen so that it can be a behemoth once more.

Well, I just came out of The Marvels... And it was an utter mess from beginning to end, just as bad as people like Dan Murrell are saying it is. A Frankensteinian abomination created by duct-taping four different movies together. It's hastily edited, poorly paced, and just overall a mostly hollow husk where the emotional beats don't land at all. Iman and Teyonnah both co-carried this movie and prevented it from being unwatchable like She-Hulk and Secret Invasion. And admittedly it occassionally looked pretty cool. Unfortunately Brie wasn't all that much better here than she was in the first film, and the villain was by far the worst in the franchise, and among the worst in the genre. Easily the worst movie in the franchise for me, below Quantumania as that one at least had tons of promise, which this one never had much of. It's genuinely depressing to see a universe I love reach these lows. Being released right after the Loki finale, which is its polar opposite in every way, makes the sting extra painful. I sincerely hope Deadpool 3 will mark the beginning of a new, better era next year.

👏I👏FUCKING👏 CALLED 👏 IT Almost half a year of reshoots sounds pretty brutal, and almost Josstice-tier. But hey, if it actually fixes the movie, then so be it. This is the good thing about The Marvels bombing. It will be the wakeup call Marvel needs to get back on track. Focusing solely on Deadpool 3 for next year and otherwise laying low until this movie in 2025 is the smartest decision they've made in a while. Hoping for the best!

I can see the goofiness give the audience Love and Thunder flashbacks and causing them to recoil on a level not seen since Batman v Superman. It already had a disadvantage there when they finalized 2 out of the 3 leads to be women of color, as movies starring them tend to take a hit in those territories.

Weird trailer, but otherwise it has a lot of potential. If it can avoid the nostalgia pitfalls the last movie fell into then this could be a win for the brand.
