MG10 replied to Quigley's topic in International Box Office
With yesterday's gross No Way Home has now surpassed Iron Man 3 and Age of Ultron, both at around 16 million euros -

Unfortunately not, but maybe it can reach 25 million dollars (it needs to gross about 22 million euros) -

In theory it's 95% and for Hollywood movies (in particular blockbusters) is even higher, so that's really strange 🤷🏻♂️ -

Sorry but what's that bullshit number for Italy? $21.2M means about 18.8M euros, considering that updated to yesterday's gross is at 15.7M I highly doubt it... -

ITALY (Botteghino): 'Kung Fu Panda 4' becomes biggest 2024 film

Mah in the end they are restrictions that don't change anything, more than anything else I think they have had a psychological effect. Then with over 50k cases per day many people want to avoid going to crowded places and risk spending all the Christmas and New Year holidays in isolation because they resulted positive... -
ITALY (Botteghino): 'Kung Fu Panda 4' becomes biggest 2024 film
MG10 replied to Quigley's topic in International Box Office
Worst Christmas day I can remember (cinemas were closed last December), with a total gross 70% lower than in 2019, when there were for example The Rise of Skywalker, Jumanji 2, Frozen 2, Il Primo Natale and Pinocchio As expected the only Christmas film, "Chi ha incastrato Babbo Natale" grossed 10 times more than yesterday, while all the other films only doubled Sing 2 is doing quite bad and Diabolik too, killed more by the reviews than by Omicron. The series of Italian comics legends disappointingly adapted for the cinema continues... -

The anime adaption has a really good animation and also resolves some pacing issues of the manga, apparently for Japanese kids and teenagers it's more than enough to become one of the most popular anime/manga ever 🤷🏻♂️- 23,683 replies

ITALY (Botteghino): 'Kung Fu Panda 4' becomes biggest 2024 film

Tomorrow is not only Christmas but also Saturday, I think that compared to today the total gross of the day will increase by at least 5 times (and for the only Christmas film in theaters maybe even 10 times, also because otherwise it would really be a flop with few precedents) -
Top 10 grossing films per country (Excluding US/Canada)
MG10 replied to baumer's topic in International Box Office
And we mustn't forget that for many years Cinetel only covered a part of the Italian theaters (I think only the ones in the 50 biggest cities), and before that date it's practically impossible to know the box office numbers with precision However I finally managed to find the ranking of the highest grossing movies of all time in Italy that solves the problem of the low theathers coverage of Cinetel from 1994 to 2001 (or from 1994 to 2009 to be more precise 😅), now I'll post the official and the estimated ranking (Link 1, Link 2, alternative Link 2) TOP 10 for Cinetel €65.7M - Avatar (2010) €65.4M - Quo Vado? (ITA 2016) €52M - Sole a Catinelle (ITA 2013) €50.2M - Titanic (1998) €46.2M - Tolo Tolo (ITA 2020) €43.5M - Che Bella Giornata (ITA 2011) €37.5M - The Lion King (2019) €31.3M - Life is Beautiful (ITA 1997) €30.4M - Alice in Wonderland (2010) €30.3M - Avengers: Endgame (2019) TOP 10 Estimated €71M - Titanic (1998) €65.7M - Avatar (2010) €65.4M - Quo Vado? (ITA 2016) €52M - Sole a Catinelle (ITA 2013) €47.8M - Life is Beautiful (ITA 1997) €46.2M - Tolo tolo (ITA 2020) €43.5M - Che Bella Giornata (ITA 2011) €40.1M - Il Ciclone (ITA 1996) €38.3M - Fuochi d’Artificio (ITA 1997) €37.9M - Chiedimi se Sono Felice (ITA 2000) -

MG10 replied to Quigley's topic in International Box Office
This afternoon were announced the new measures for the Christmas holidays and the New Year celebrations, regarding the theaters the capacity remains at 100% and the only difference is that it will be required the use of the ffp2 mask instead of the usual surgical one, and I also heard it's no longer allowed to eat during the film -
ITALY (Botteghino): 'Kung Fu Panda 4' becomes biggest 2024 film
MG10 replied to Quigley's topic in International Box Office
From what I remember Tuesday is the day with the lowest gross, so an increase the next day is always to be expected That said, yesterday was the last day of school before the Christmas holidays, no more annoying tests and oral exams for millions of students and someone will surely have gone to see Spider-Man in theathers -
Excellent, many thanks. Surprisingly high numbers from Spain and Italy, and it's just me or I can't find Ukraine and Russia/Cis? Edit: just noticed that Portugal, Greece and all the Balkans are also missing, the real number is probably higher than 40M

Would anyone be able to find out how many tickets the first Spider-Man sold in total (for example 70M in Usa/Canada etc) to make a comparison with No Way Home?

Just like Monday, and I would say it doesn't surprise me at all. Endgame was simply another beast, while other comparable movies like Infinity War or also Far From Home came out in different periods (for example the first Monday of Infinity War was a holiday) -

With these 850k euros it has now passed the total of Suicide Squad, the next is The Dark Knight Rises (at 14.7M) which will allow it to enter the top 10 of the highest grossing superhero movies in the country -

Almost 900k euros today for No Way Home, surpassing the total gross of Far From Home in six days (and on its first Monday FFM grossed about 600k) One thing I forgot to mention is that in his first week it has already grossed more than the total of Captain Marvel, Aquaman, Batman v Superman and Captain America: Civil War -

1.7 million euros for House of Gucci, not bad but if they had released it a week earlier it would have been better (also because Gaga was in Italy to promote the film almost three weeks ago...) -

Does anyone know why there is such a big difference between Mexico and Brazil? Usually for Marvel movies they are quite close in total gross...
