JAPAN BOX OFFICE | Demon Slayer breaks all time record for OW
MG10 replied to Corpse's topic in International Box Office
Don't forget however that Japan is one of the countries where FFH had its best result (same for South Korea), it doesn't happen very often that a superhero movie grosses more in Japan than in France and Brazil And even more surprisingly, Japan is also one of the few markets where Far From Home has grossed more than Civil War and Iron Man 3- 23,673 replies

ITALY (Botteghino): 'Kung Fu Panda 4' becomes biggest 2024 film
MG10 replied to Quigley's topic in International Box Office
This week there are several interesting releases although nothing big, and they could finally make some changes to the top 10. Here the main ones: Scream 5 (here Sandra Bullock is very appreciated so we'll see), King Richard (documentary about the dad of the Williams sisters), the interesting Italian thriller "America Latina" and the documentary on the famous swimmer Federica Pellegrini (out only for 3 days) Next week on the other hand there are only the documentary about Celine Dion and the Demon Slayer film for 3 days, but it has been available on Amazon Prime for more than 6 months so I don't know how much it will do. Since they moved Morbius to April maybe I'll go to see it 🤷♂️ -
If only Bom updated its total after almost a month maybe we could see if it reached the 780M or not 😅

Those two films had really insane numbers in Europe, in comparison Infinity War and No Way Home are little children and only Endgame is a decent comparison (but still loses)

"House of Gucci" International Box Office Thread
MG10 replied to Flopped's topic in International Box Office
On friday it comes out also in Taiwan, I think it can reach the 150M worldwide with the new openings + the markets where it recently opened (Australia and Singapore) -
In this case the only problem is that it won't have Tfa legs 😅

Spiderman : No Way Home - Box office thread
MG10 replied to LPLC's topic in International Box Office
It may seem strange to say but the incredible success of No Way Home almost makes the success of Infinity War less incredible (which as I would like to remember grossed $2.05 billion, and it did it in April and May) Retrospectively there are some markets where it could have done even more, such as the US (twenty million more to be at least on par with Black Panther), and maybe also a few million more in the UK (where it ended quite close to the total of The Beauty and the Beast), Mexico (where strangely it has grossed less than in Brazil), Japan, Australia, Italy and perhaps also in China, since a total of 370 million after a first weekend of 190 million isn't even a x2 multiplier -
ITALY (Botteghino): 'Kung Fu Panda 4' becomes biggest 2024 film
MG10 replied to Quigley's topic in International Box Office
No Way Home won its 4th weekend in a row, better than Endgame (who lost to Detective Pikachu in its third weekend), Joker (who lost to Maleficent) and Infinity War (who grossed only 5% less than Men in Black 4 in its fourth weekend 🤷♂️). The gross week per week is now 11M in the first, 5M in the second, 4M in the third and 2M in the fourth Considering that the holidays are over and almost a month has passed since its release, we can consider his run practically over since we aren't a leggy market, I think that from here to the end it can gross another million or so (which is also more than enough to exceed 3 million admissions) In the meantime House of Gucci is getting very close to Black Widow and may surpass it -

MG10 replied to Quigley's topic in International Box Office
Keep in mind that here we have the first weekend of 4 days if not even 5, so even a simple x2 can be considered good legs (especially if it's a front loaded movie). In the case of Spider Man it grossed 11.2 million in the first 5 days, so it would have to finish above 22.4 million to exceed x2 Then of course there are special and rare cases like Joker who managed to do x5 (6M ->30M), despite having made his debut on Wednesday -
Highest Grossing Films OS-C *Updated 2022*
MG10 replied to Killimano3's topic in China At The Box Office
I chose to use the 550M cutoff because it give us a nice list of about 50 movies, while a cutoff at 500M leave us with a long list of over 70 movies. I must also say that one day I will check all the figures because considering the various re-releases in 2020 and 2021 and the often inaccurate data that BOM has about China many are probably wrong For 2022 I think Thor has no chanches (Ragnarok made 427M without China), while Doctor Strange will need an incredible increase over the first movie (even higher than No Way Home compared to Far From Home). For Lightyear I honestly expect less than Minions 2, with both out of the list -

MG10 replied to LPLC's topic in International Box Office
Its success in the UK is simply incredible, at max I expected it to double the result of Far From Home (which was already a success) so grossing about 100M, and instead it has already surpassed that figure in less than 4 weeks after the release 😱 -

With the upcoming release in China it will most likely surpass Croods 2 as the highest grossing animated film of the pandemic (excluding Demon Slayer), and let's see how long it will last as Sing 2 will almost certainly surpass it -

This is impressive, but with a "normal" release without the competition of Disney+ Black Widow would certainly have grossed more than 400M -

I never understood why Marvel never took advantage of the Christmas window in the 13 years prior to No Way Home...

Maybe I'm wrong, but I remember that without covid its release would have been scheduled for the month of July (the month with the lowest gross for half of the countries in the world). In that case I think that even with China the 2 billion would have been really difficult, let alone the 2.2B of Titanic -

Well to be fair Turkey, Russia but also Georgia, Armenia and Kazakhstan are all in Europe, then if the Middle East is considered a separate thing Turkey is definitely there- 23,673 replies

6.5B would already be incredible (above Endgame and Joker), 7.5B would be the dream 👍- 23,673 replies
