Mean Girls should lead with around 7M. The following weekend doesn't look much better. Argylle's marketing is atrocious. I can see it bombing with a 13-15M OW.
Of course they did, with anciliary revenue, toys and other merchandise.
If Hollywood worked the way many of you think, Hollywood wouldn't exist at all.
I understand the haters want to hate, but with a 205M budget and a 430-450M WW total Aquaman will eventually break even with ancilliary revenue. It was a massive dump job and clearly they were expecting far worse. It is the final movie in an abandoned franchise that nobody cares about. Honestly I think WB will see this one as a small win. Obviously that when it was greenlighted nobody expected such weak numbers but things changed a lot. This movie didn't even have a premiere event. It speaks mountains of what WB thinks of it. It is far from a bomb and not even a flop. If you want bombs 2023 gave you plenty. No need to attack this one.
Don't bother quoting me with nonsense that this is a flop or that we can't trust official budgets. I won't even read it. What I said is fact. Anything else is crazy/hater talk.
Migration and Wonka are fucked. 100M and 200M are dead.
Anyone But You seems like it is going to end with 80-90M. Impressive considering today's market.
Solid ODs for Mean Girls and Beekeeper, even if unspectacular because of how big the share of them are previews.
Seems solid for both openers. It really depends on how much comes from EA in each case. 30M+ for Mean Girls on the 3 days would be really nice but likely not happening anymore.
I hope ABY isn't hit hard by Mean Girls and instead both can co-exist.
Everything else seems more or less safe until the end of January with no direct competition coming up.
