  1. The Hunger Games is now rotten so sales should plunge a bit.
  2. I have seen the trailer. Billie Eilish. THE HOTNESS. My God. IN MY VEINS.
  3. Isn't this from the writer of Morbius, Gods of Egypt, The Last Witch Hunter and Power Rangers? Yeah, this was screwed from the get going.
  4. Considering this was greenlighted by FOX's old regime, it isn't even a one for them/one for me, unless he asked Disney to be able to do reshoots and get this a theatrical release, but considering how such a non-starter this is shaping up to be, it might as well have been a Hulu Original.
  5. It doesn't work like that. People are not interested right now because The Marvels is the peak of everything that went wrong with the MCU since 2021. Imagine a decently received Captain Marvel 2 (70s on RT) with the hook of Secret Invasion in a timeline where there are no TV shows. It is a completely different world.
  6. In that timeline that storyline is set in a two hours and a half Captain Marvel 2. The chances that it is made competently increase dramatically from the garbage we got.
  7. The Marvels entire hook was "come see this team of superheroes!". The entire marketing was this. They had nothing else to sell. And if your entire marketing rests on a team up where people don't care about 2 of the 3 members... (this goes back to the points of TV/too much content/duds/MCU getting too dense I made in the previous page). An ACTUAL Captain Marvel 2 with the storyline of Secret Invasion where you have Brie and SLJ front and center would easily make 750-900M WW. Now that would be a great hook. In this timeline Marvel never branched to TV. Of course, we aren't in this timeline.
  8. While I do think there is a larger share of men interested in CBMs than woman, it is reductive and non-sensical to point that as a main factor for The Marvels self-destruction. It is non-sensical to even point it as a factor at all. The massive bombage of The Marvels is not related to wokeness or woman front and center at all, even if unfortunately it will lead to thousands online saying "go woke, get broke" or whatever. I could write an essay on why The Marvels (and the MCU) are imploding: - The franchise is 15 years old and it is no longer appealing/accessible to a younger generation (video games adaptations are the present/future), and with the youngs not caring and the older crowd only caring about the older heroes you have an issue at hands; - TV made it like a homework to follow, it caused fatigue and made Marvel not seem like an event anymore; - Too many teases that made it too big to follow and keep track of everything (I watch everything religiously and for the life of me I couldn't remember how Monica got her powers, besides knowing it happened in Wandavision); - Movies and TV shows became too interconnected, making everything important, if nobody watched Ms Marvel, Wandavision and Secret Invasion supposedly you wouldn't get The Marvels; - With the insane increase in amount of stuff to watch, Marvel started to release duds left and right (on both the TV and movies side), the Marvel brand was no longer synonimous with BANGER; - Quantumania was hyped as the start of the Phase 5, the big return to form of Marvel and the Multiverse Saga, and it ended up as the worst Marvel movie for most and really killed the hype for the brand, which was already under problems because of the 2022 lineup (She-Hulk and Moon Knight had mixed receptions, nobody watched Ms Marvel despite good WOM, Multiverse of Madness was hyped as something it was not causing badwill, Love & Thunder another weak sequel that nobody really liked and in the middle of all of this you had Wakanda Forever, which did have a good reception but it was not enough to lift the entire boat) - Theatrical is no longer what it was, people are not going just to pass time, you either CARE or you wait for streaming. I could go on and on about this but honestly I have written way too much and nobody will read all of this text. In the end, I will leave with an idea I have read somewhere else like a year ago that really explains how I think most feel about the MCU nowadays: The MCU after Endgame feels like a game you love where you finished the main story and now you are trying to extend it by doing all the side quests, but it doesn't feel the same anymore.
  9. The Killer was RAD. Good movie. Felt almost like Fincher was talking about himself at a few points. The direction is sublime. Fassbender was fantastic as the lead. He was so cold and ruthless.
  10. Theaters are so screwed. Damn, things are looking dire. THG is next in bomb land. People are just not going unless it is an event and theaters aren't sustainable like that.
  11. If this ever happens it will be a D+ show. A movie of the Young Avengers would bomb as hard as Shazam 2/Blue Beetle.
  12. 6.6M... how much did GotG3 and Wakanda Forever did? What if it follows those?
  13. Beast was added last week. Only justification for the CW level CGI. It doesn't even look like Kelsey's Beast.
  14. Tickets on sale here in Portugal. Zero sold so far. Even Tay Tay bombed here so no surprise.
  15. This was fun. Saw it yesterday. Doesn't deserve to be rotten and lumped with Quantumania. Iman and Brie are fire.
