I hope ABY isn't hit hard by Mean Girls and instead both can co-exist.
Everything else seems more or less safe until the end of January with no direct competition coming up.
I quite liked this holiday week. Cool numbers to follow (sad about The Color Purple) even if we didn't had early numbers like the last 2 years because those only show up when there is a mammoth performer in town.
Hopefully all of these movies hold well into January.
I am done with thinking tactically. I might cut my trips severely in 2024 and beyond. I just can't deal with the hassle of having to plan when and where to watch each movie.
I have already changed the theater I go to regularly. It still didn't help me today. Assholes are just too common nowadays. I have to pay for overpriced tickets, food and still deal with this shit? No wonder people prefer to stay at home.
Went to see Anyone But You today. Big group of teens talking loudly in the room. Ruined the whole experience, and you all wonder why older people don't come back to theaters? My tolerance for this shit is absolutely zero as I turned 30 a couple of months ago. My girlfriend was unpleased as well. She went from "we should come see Mean Girls" at the beginning to "maybe we should see these type of movies at home" by the end. It was the first time I took her to theaters since October and we just wanted to have a fun time together.
I am OK with becoming a streaming hoe if this is the path. I already avoid going to the movies with my girlfriend because I know it is always mostly an uncomfortable experience.
