  1. I really wish this film had been ready for October 1. Gotham, and Batman's world in general, just has such a dark (obviously) Autumn vibe to it. When I walk downtown on a dark, cool Autumn afternoon/evening, I feel Gotham. Maybe a weird sentiment haha but October just feels so right for Batman movies, like it did for Joker. WB did put it in that spot initially so they must feel that first weekend of October is a good spot. Not Batman related but films like Gravity and A Star is Born worked well for them in that spot too. They put Blade Runner 2049 there but not the best example. Anyway, just a random ramble of mine.
  2. So how do you all feel about the dailies for this? Holding well? I'm not quite up to speed myself on prognosticating where total grosses are going to land....
  3. Ridley is actually doing Gladiator 2??? How is that supposed to work?
  4. You've got that right! I know the subject matter of this film is touchy, and I know my tastes don't apply to everyone else, but it isn't THAT hard a sell. It looks epic, it has a great cast. It's not like this is a slow, depressing melodrama. There's a lot for studios to work with here, in my humble opinion.
  5. If I may, I think it's just because we box office fanatics are just excited for the box office to be back again. When I saw the business Free Guy did back in August I was ecstatic!
  6. Well that's just it isn't it? I've noticed some of the media outlets on the subject have been dreadfully inaccurate.
  7. I think this looks great. Am I in the minority? Sure the homages to other films were obvious, if not downright jarring, but the trailer unnerved me and that's always a great sign. Horror is very subjective but I've always liked Derrickson's brand. I maintain that the scariest movie I've seen - if we're measuring that by how impacted we felt during and after the film - is the Exorcism of Emily Rose. That film shook me for days (Jennifer Carpenter's performance was a big part of that too). In a word, I'll be giving this a go.
  8. I was kind of hoping this entry would do similar business to the 2018 Halloween but I can totally understand why it wouldn't. Call it wishful thinking I guess. Plus, don't second entries in a trilogy usually make the least anyway? You have your big first entry, the middle entry where the excitement and novelty wears off a bit, and then you have your big finale and the gross goes up again! Still, $40 million plus is Conjuring territory, which is to say it's top tier horror at the box office so I can't complain about that!
  9. It would be so odd for this movie to debut at the end of January! A date is a date is a date, I know that, but it would feel....I don't know...off? There is something about following these huge box office runs over the holidays ever since Star Wars The Force Awakens that I'm kinda getting used to.
  10. Before I had my kids, I mean. Sorry it appears I can't edit posts yet.
  11. Well I'm glad you found this place earlier in life. Had I found this site before kids I would be living, eating and breathing it. Just a fair warning that everyone here might get a liiiiiitle sick of me. 😂
  12. Thank you! I'm so glad I found you guys. I just hope things settle with the IATSE (ie. I hope the studios give them what they deserve so we can all move forward for everyone's benefit!) so we can enjoy the box office run for Spider-Man: No Way Home together. I'm not a Marvel superfan but following their box office results is veeeery fun. Haven't had something like that since the last Star Wars but Spidey seems even bigger than that.
  13. It's too bad because it looks soooo good. Hopefully soon more people venture out to see the non Marvel stuff.
  14. I just have one question.... Where has this site been all my life???? I talk to my friends about how much a movie makes and they look at me like "why are you talking about that??" I am at peace.
