  1. I thought this was a wide release on the 12th but heard it's only opening in 500 theatres or so. I'm guessing this will go wide on Wednesday the 24th before Thanksgiving.
  2. I'm pretty sure this will move, given that with the new NFL schedule this weekend is now Superbowl weekend. It might serve as effective counter programming against Uncharted on Presidents' Day weekend.
  3. I was kind of thinking that but then I realized the first one was released in February lol. Seeing how it did in February though, it sure would have been nice to give the sequel the summer blockbuster treatment. The weekdays would have been something to behold.
  4. Does anyone know if the Marvel release date shift is going to impact the Disney+ shows at all?
  5. Ah, gotcha. For some reason I thought the November 4 scheduling for Flash was relatively new. Well my prediction still stands. Flash will move and BP will move to November 4.
  6. Exactly. This has been their configuration in the month of November for awhile now. Makes me wonder why they originally scheduled a couple Marvels for second November weekends in the first place. I'm wondering if Disney was playing games with other studios. If they schedule a big event like a Marvel on the 2nd weekend of November maybe they figure studios won't schedule anything of substance either on the weekend before or after, therefore giving Disney ultimate flexibility. If this was the case they guessed wrong, as WB put Flash on the 4th, but still. I don't know. Just thinking out loud here.
  7. That still means something though. I guess it depends on if that older generation of VHS consumers shows up for the film.
  8. Oh I just figured Disney would do that anyway. They already moved the untitled Marvel in November 2023 from the 10th to the 3rd. And wasn't Eternals originally scheduled for the 12th this year (or whatever Marvel was originally coming out on this date)? I don't know why they scheduled them for the 2nd weekend in the first place. They went with the first weekend of November in the past (except for Thor: The Dark World on the 8th in 2013 because that particular calendar configuration has 4 November weekends BEFORE Thanksgiving).
  9. Maybe he'll make an appearance in the movies but his presence is only officially announced for the show. Kind of like how Kang was confirmed for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania then we saw him in Loki.
  10. I never knew that! That's neat! Certainly changes how I predict its performance.
  11. Even the Saturday was a bit of an indication. Halloween 2018 increased on Saturday from true Friday about 6 or 7%. HK dropped, though not by much.
  12. Oh by the way, I know this is probably anal but can someone change the thread title to May 6? I keep thinking 2023 when I see May 5.
  13. Yeah I don't think they had a choice this year. I griped for a long time about Shang-Chi's Labour Day weekend release but at the end of the day there's a back log of films and studios just need to get them out there. It's the reason for the crowded October as well.
  14. Yep, a solid overall weekend, but the Sunday drop points to ugly numbers ahead. O/U 2x multi?
  15. Is this not going to be ready for next year?? Why not just put it on Memorial Day weekend, where every other Indiana Jones has released? I guess there's already John Wick 4 on that weekend but isn't MD weekend a good date for tentpoles to coexist?
  16. Puke?? Noooo! This is awesome! Best entertainment news in awhile!
  17. Can't wait to buy the blu ray for this! Haven't even seen it yet and I know it'll be a keeper. I've said it before and I'm probably a broken record now: I love Ridley Scott historical epics!
  18. I don't think so because these date changes are due to internal production matters only. Sony won't move THEIR movie because of whatever is going on with production on another studio's films.
  19. Minor detail, but I'm pretty sure The Flash will move and this will bump up a week to November 4. More breathing room before Disney's annual Thanksgiving animation tentpole.
