I don’t think Oppie will play out like a regular Nolan film. The Barbenheimer hype train changed everything skyrocketing people’s interest but that would lead to bigger drops goin forward IMO.
WOM is good but we are still talking about a dark 3 hour Rated R drama with no action.
Lot of things seemed locked after just 10 days of release inhere. Guardians 3 over $900M ww, Mario over $600M dom, Avatar under $2B etc etc…
Too early.
I’m still not sold over Oppie going over $800M worldwide.
I’m waiting to see how it will perform once the Barbenheimer mania is over.
If it manages to get there it would be the most incredible achievement post COVID-19 IMO.
Well Oppy is way less OS driven compared to Interstellar so I don’t see it topping Inception. I’m talking about Interstellar original 2014 run btw I see that it made a ridiculous amount of money thanks to late re releases as well.
It’s gonna be interesting seeing the legs of those two once the Barbenheimer fever is over.
Barbie is much more pure entertainment with great comedy than a social manifesto so that’s good for its boxoffice perspectives.
90% were women at my afternoon show.
To be fair NTTD shouldn’t be on that list. Too many circumstances linked to the real pandemic era, without mentioning years of burned marketing.
Having said that I see a lot of gloom over the franchise after Craig.
Well Bond does pretty good. I always found almost sold out movie theaters during the OW for a bond film. Bond gets also way more media coverage over the tv than M:I.
Plus, this season of the year people just want to leave the city for the weekend.
