  1. Make better movies. People didn´t like Thor, MoM, Ant-Man 3, Eternals. Black Widow had good but not great reception. Ant-Man 3 was supposed to be the start of the new saga and it was arguably one of their worst movies.
  2. 120-130M is bad (Still think it will go lower) but it will be good in context of how it is was looking. That doesn´t mean this is a big W for the MCU or anything like that, it´s still a massive disappointment. Two things can be true at once. With 120M it can potentially leg out to a ok but disappointing/underwhelming result, but any lower even with good legs it´s kinda a disaster performance.
  3. Could be, which is horrible. But there are also other example of MCU movies in that range getting A CS. Iron Man 2 is on 71% (don´t know if it was higher at time of release) and Age of Ultron is at 76% also got A. In fact MoM is the only MCU movie in that range that has gotten B+. That said MoM was also about more darker than those movies and sounds like Vol 3 could be the same, but I get the impression that more like this than MoM. Only hope is that audience that has seen it so far seems to have loved it but we will see when more GA people watch it over the weekend.
  4. Come on, even I that loved many of those projects can see that the goodwill has gone to hell. Eternals was the first misstep. It happens, didn´t really did any bad damage. Then you have both MoM and LaT highly anticipated projects that both were disappointments for most. Then WF did well but then you got another one with Ant-Man which also disappointed highly. Not to mention some of the MCU D+ shows also become polarizing for some. Sum that all up you can´t really deny that the goodwill has gone. A movie like Vol 3 should increase with 40M from Vol 2 not decrease which is where it´s going to go. That doesn´t mean that the MCU is dead or anything, but it´s in a bad patch right now and needs to build up goodwill and brand confidence it had before. The box office of Ant-Man 3, the downgrade of OS gross from NWH until Ant-Man 3 and pre-sales for Vol 3 really can´t be disputed.
  5. Letterboxd score will go down, it won´t be on the level of Top Gun. However, it´s a good indicator that WOM could be strong. Even before the fans screening started it was on a 3.9. For comparison: Wakanda Forever started with 3,8 and had that around 2-3 weeks after release. It has 3,6 now. Strong score. Ant-Man 3 started with 3.0 and quickly went down to 2,8/9 (can´t recall excatly what it was). Now it´s at 2,7 Shang-Chi was at 4,0 after the fan screenings they did for that movie. Now at a 3,6. The signs are there for this to be a crowdpleaser with good WOM. Let´s how it goes next week. Regardless of box office the reception of this movie is important just for the general brand and genre. We need some movies that audiences like.
  6. Yup Eternals and Ant-Man both got historical low CS for MCU with B, only movies with that. Both also only rotten MCU movies.
  7. Guys I´m begging you guys to learn how RT works before complaining about it. First of all just because you personally think something is wrong that doesn´t mean that it is. The % is not a measure of quality, it´s a % of how many liked the movie. No Country For Old Men and NWH may have the same the % but No Country For Old Men avg rating is 8.8 while NWH is 7.9 Aka critics think NWH isn´t even close to that level. Some of you guys moaning about Ant-Man 2. Ant-Man has a 7.0/10 rating. It´s % is at high 86% because it´s low stakes simple film with not much ambition. Easier to like and to digest. Hell Vol 3 has a stronger avg rating even now at 79%. The Batman has a lower % than Ant-Man 2 but the avg rating is way higher. RT is fine, people just don´t know how to use it.
  8. Yeah this will prob end up at 200-220K T-0. Not good. WOM will decide how far under or over it goes over Ant-Man 3. Only positive thing is drop won´t be as big due to Vol 2 not making as much as say a Ant-Man 2 or Black Panther.
  9. One week to release. Many of RT reviewers watch the movie during OW, usually you have around 100 +- 10% until release
  10. I´m not talking about that, I´m talking about the fan screenings they are doing today. Whether it´s good or not fans are most likely going to like it more and thus spread positive WOM which can help with sales.
  11. Naturally, WOM from the fan screening is strong. Hopefully that ramps ups sales.
  12. What would you give it? Also was it as dark as some have said or was it overblown
  13. Letterboxd reviews from critics are pretty strong and it´s at a 3.9 average. Wakanda Forever was on the same range, 3.8. Metacritic aswell is similar to it. It´s in the same range expect on RT where it´s a bit lower. Think this will be fine, just not the homerun. People will probably like it, don´t know about box office tho.
  14. The next wave of reviews will give us a good idea whether it´s closer to DS2 or WF. That wave it got there was brutal while the first was strong. Letterboxd reviews are very strong so far, on the same level as WF was when that review embargo dropped.
  15. I´m thinking 83-85, but wouldn´t be surprised if it´s higher. It´s hard to gauge when it´s so many more reactions than we normally get, but it does look overall good. Many overwhelmingly positive but also enough mixed/negative to raise an eyebrow. But I´m happy with the reactions, it made me excited for the movie at least
