    well i recently started tracking the 5 busiest AMC's of the 10 total i was previously tracking so i don't have comps but the marvels at (d-29) had sold 450 tickets at 10 locations and even if i split that number in half to 225, aquaman still is running ~48% or a $3.2m previews and likely even worse since the 5 theatres i no longer track either only had standard showings or very few showings

    first one came during the peak of comic book movies, even a critically demolished venom made 860m with an october release in the same year, the market has changed so much that a fantastically well recieved guardians movie can't even make those numbers

    he's not saying there's no chance it can't do decently by the end but that the start is not that good considering its a sequel to a billion dollar grosser, similar early checks on the marvels let us know it wasn't gonna sniff previous mcu openings, we can get some idea of how aquaman will open with early sales

    Started checking Aquaman 2 tickets about 45 minutes after Fandango tweeted it was on sale, so far sold 47 tickets at 5 AMC's but 32 of those are from 2 standard showings where the exact same middle row are all sold, dunno if thats a group buy or blocked or error

    its barely above the creator's first thursday and that movie did like 6m 2nd weekend, at this point i don't know if marvels can even do 10m

    Man if Deadpool 3 doesn't have great reception then marvel might be cooked for good
