  1. Has anybody here actually seen the movie? If so, Is it worth going to the theaters for it?
  2. Did it get dumber and dumber as the movie progressed? Yep to the 10000000%. Was it an entertaining action blockbuster? Meh. I found myself rooting more and more for Ornn to assume the role of the King of Atlantis because AquaBro's douche schtick was very unfunny and getting on my nerves. There were some exhilarating action scenes at least and had some entertainment value. Certainly marginally better than the previous superhero movie. Can't believe people thought this would do better than Avatar at the boxoffice. My Score: Rental
  3. First half of the movie made me want to pump iron and Rock Bottom somebody. 2nd half was a bit depressing, considering I assumed it to be more of an inspirational action movie. One of those films worth watching in theaters. My Score: Low Full Price
  4. With the Hunger Games blowing past $300M and Wonka well on it's way to plow through those marks, What are the possibilities of The Color Purple, Twonka, and AquaBro 2 all grossing over $400M WW?
  5. You know. That's the first time I've ever heard that. But it's actually Wonder Woman. With Man of Steel coming in 2nd.
  6. Just look at what has happened to the FOX movie division after their merger with Disney. Gone and Dusted into the bin of eternity. I can't recall the last hit they had outside of Avatar: The Way of Water.
  7. The bombing of AquaBro 2 , starring Jason Mamoa, Patrick Wilson, and NOT Amber Heard, is a foregone conclusion that will be engraved into the pantheon of boxoffice flops. The only question that remains is whether it'll go under the Marvels or not. They all would rather see Timotheeee Chalamet make chocolate instead. The crowd yearns for the TWonka.
  8. It all makes sense. I thought Tom Cruise was going to join Warner Bros. after his heavy praise for the divisive Flash movie starring Ezra Miller on the run. What I didn't expect was that Paramount jumping on the team Zazzy Warner wagon as well.
  9. There's an American Civil War and I can only identify one man with a BMI over 30? What's going on here?
  10. The Thing that I love about the Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli is that he/they never sold out. 1. 90%+ of their movies are all hand drawn, which is significantly more expensive than being digitally crafted. Especially considering they artistically decided to put as much detail to every frame as possible. But at the same thing, it just adds an extra dimension to their movies. I'm not quite sure I know how to describe it. (Earwig and the Witch never happened) 2. They aren't good capitalists. Miyazaki doesn't kiss weebaboo behind and just makes whatever he wants. Sticks to making movies centered around themes important to him. Probably also the reason why the studio is not financial top notch for as legendary as they are.
  11. I recommend you do. It's like another well known boxoffice hit this year. It's available on the Max streaming platform, but only in Dubbed form, unfortunately.
  12. Personally Speaking, I don't have Spirited Away in my upper echelon of Studio Ghibli Movies. Off the top of my head, I would say Princess Mononoke, Grave of the Fireflies, Nausicaa: Valley of the Wind, and Wind Rises would best it in my list.
  13. The fall from grace is real. I ask my movie group to see this movie, and I'm left with immediate rejection. And they wanted to see the Marvels .... before the reviews came in.
  14. Beautifully Animated, but a bit disappointing. The Story and Narrative were all over the place. They were spraying bullets with Storm Trooper precision.
  15. To be fair to Napoleon, It was a movie, created/produced by the British, about a Great French Leader/Conqueror. Plus The Marvels is a sequel to a superhero movie that grossed over $1 billion. One of the prestigous 53 movies.
  16. The screenplay for 2014 Godzilla was lackluster. I had no emotional attachment to the any of the characters in that movie. What was their purpose? Their drive? Their internal conflicts? Why make Aaron Taylor Johnson their main character , instead of Bryan Cranston? If the ONLY appeal of any action movie is the CGI effects, Then the studios have lost.
  17. It's undeniable what good action directing, great pre-planning/story boarding, and even better script can do for a blockbuster movie about a giant lizard with stinky breath. Legendary has a tough act to follow.
