  1. I said the same path, not the same numbers. And you're right actually, this isn't going the same path as the Divergent series. Because each movie in the Beasts franchise is dropping hundreds of millions per movie, whilst Divergent improved with movie #2 and only slightly dipped with #3. Fantastic Beasts is dropping off further from the face of this planet with each instalment.
  2. Probably some sort of fun music, that's kind of part of the method to Ragnarok's madness so I can't see why they won't continue that.
  3. I think this might make around $70-80M opening weekend with a 3-4x multiplier.
  4. One of the best success stories of the past century at the box office. The movie was a joke when they released their initial trailers, people found the trailer for Detective Pikachu far superior and this movie was the laughing stock of the Internet. The studio and director made the insane decision to literally delay the movie and make things right based off fan reactions to the trailer - which almost never happens - and the first movie went on to be a huge success, breaking the opening weekend record for a video game movie, beating out Detective Pikachu (which flopped) and has now spawned an entire franchise with a third movie, a spin-of series and probably more they've yet to announce. I haven't seen this movie but I'm happy for the studio, the team and their fans!
  5. I will seriously laugh if the next movie is not the last. This series is literally dying, it's going the same path as the Divergent film franchise and they didn't even make it to their last movie. Major drops each movie, falling critical reception, and the controversies whether you agree with them or not pile on every two years as we wait for the next sequel. It's over, WB. Even if the last two movies were somehow amazing, audiences won't even give them the opportunity anymore - we've seen that with everyone franchise with a similar trajectory.
  6. People will be able to see more of Wanda in the Scarlet Witch quadrilogy movies, her cameos in four D+ series Agatha: House of Harkness, Young Avengers, Billy & Tommy, Vision Again and when she is the lead star in the next twenty-seven Avengers movies, as well as the Wanda & Pietro prequel origin movie.
  7. They will find out when the trailer is out in the next couple of months. And the movie will actually be FRESH in their minds! We live in an era where there are upwards of 10 MCU projects in a year! Better to give them the time they deserve as opposed to bombarding casual audiences with five different projects at once that they will forget about.
  8. So what is so different about finding out 2-3 months before release with a trailer, as opposed to 5 to 6?
  9. I never understood why studios released trailers a year away from release many years ago, and that has held true post-pandemic. People are more aware of blockbusters that are releasing, especially when it's the biggest franchise in Hollywood. You don't need to raise awareness six months out because everyone's already aware.
  10. No one in my theatre even laughed at the I am Venom line!! It was also weirdly delivered, it was very OOC for Michael Morbius to say that.
  11. To be fair, DC/WB had the multiverse idea first but they just took so long that by the time this releases, the MCU will already be several chapters into their multiverse arc.
  12. Maybe if they renamed this movie to Scarlet Witch: Multiverse of Madness, this would have a chance at $3B+.
  13. NWH benefits from repeat viewings, I don't know if people will watch it more than once. But perhaps it'll be less front loaded so will help with legs.
  14. There is nothing to draw non-CBM fans in. Jared Leto is not a reliable draw. The character seems very generic and the trailer seems to focused on the side cast's POV, when we should really be enjoying this movie and falling in love with our lead. Not to mention all the delays have made this movie seem a bit stale. This is not going to do well but we'll see.
  15. This is just further proof that sometimes it's okay to go through reshoots and retinkle your film based off fan reactions to a trailer. I hope more studios use reactions to trailers (i.e. LORD OF THE RINGS SERIES) almost like a test audience, and then further refine their movies from there. What was once the laughing stock prior to its release has now spawned a movie trilogy and a live-action spin-off show (with more to come if successful).
  16. Look at how much attention Wanda is getting and she's not even the central lead! Solo movie announcement, when?
  17. They should have at least used a shot from Aquaman 2's marketing campaign than the same tired pose from the first movie.
  18. I'm literally sensing no hype for this outside of online CBM fandoms. I've not had a single person talk to me about Batman at work or within my friend group (who aren't hardcore cinema lovers) in the past year. A lot of the hype seems very US/domestic-driven as well, so I would not be surprised if the split skewed more domestic than international. But we'll see.
  19. I feel like this movie is coming out at the right time fortunately. I feel like there is a huge appetite right now for major, tentpole blockbuster movies that isn't a superhero movie, but fun for families, that demands to be seen on the big screen. John Wick, Top Gun and Mission: Impossible all kind of feel the same (white, male lead in an action focused movie). They don't really appeal to the female demographic IMO. Jurassic World Dominion will do well as expected but I feel like the gap between 2 and 3 may have been too long.
  20. JK is very deserving of the backlash she is getting. I hope this movie crash and falls (it's DOA anyway)
  21. I was a huge apocalyptic movie fan growing up - loved 2012. But after seeing this trailer... yeah, I think we need to put that genre on rest for a while.
  22. The point is... Wanda is very popular. Whether you like her or not. Her popularity surpasses half of the male leads and is most certainly a more popular female MCU character than any other female character, without question. In a world where Captain Marvel made over $1B and Black Widow did decent money under the circumstances, a SW movie seems like an easy sell and easy money, as well as giving the fans what they want. I just hope we haven't heard any mummers about a SW movie because Marvel haven't really given as much info on their slate past 2023, but I just fear she's going to continue to be relegated due to a supporting character.
