TREK 3 is happening. WW is good enough. IM4 may have different guy playing Tony Stark which may kill the franchise, LOL -
What is EPIC all about? FERNGULLY type of plot? No buzz, no hype, kinda there. Maybe Fox wants to save some for TURBO in July? I predicted $25-$30 million for this because it looks dull & predictable. But hey, the more the merrier. Here is to a record May weekend, yes?

Paul Walker is not Aussie enough for Aussies? He gets that Point Break look down pat. They should cast Chris Hemsworth's B-list brother, Liam. When he is not doing a lottery role like THE HUNGER GAME, he is unfairly cast in bit roles like the one in EXPENDABLES 2. That's cold, Mr Suits.

FF6 over STID. Who coulda thought? Who coulda imagined?

FF5 was predicted to be a breakout? I remember even industry people were astonished by its domestic AND international performance. Young Europeans, especially the growing minorities there, dig Vin's persona. Asians love racing and they got their rocks off with these movies. The audience reaction was overwhelmingly positive at a screening a few days ago.

I think the studios have a very nicely differentiated set of releases in May here. All cater to different demographics. Trekkies are too proud to be a Marvelite. While girlfriends are pulling the jock boyfriends off Wolfpack to GATSBY, others still show up for Rainbow Coalition FF6 (black, Italians, Hispanics, Asians are all well represented), a nice non-conformist counterpoint to the dull idealism of STAR TREK. Families shun all the fireworks and drag their kids to a safe EPIC. And everybody wins out. Except for the Wolfpack.
