JOHN CARTER is not a bad film, a more entertaining Saturday night rental. Kitschy Taylor is a Masterpiece Theater Actor next to Junior Jaden. However I feel that Shyamalan is unfairly slighted. He is not in his top form it's because he is lacking in studio support. He works in scifi/fantasy genre which gets little support when it is not a comic book adaptation or sequel to a popular franchise. Remember this is the guy who did SIXTH SENSE & UNBREAKABLE. He should work with Summit or Lionsgate where they might/ would leave him alone. Thoughts?

You might like it but how about the crowd? THE PRESTIGE is one of the most thoroughly enjoyable films in recent memory and it made less than what INCEPTION did during its opening weekend.

South European/Mediterranean people are not like Americans or English-speaking countries where comic books figure a lot in youth culture. The only fanboys or fan-men there are the soccer fans ...People love social comedies there. Look at INTOUCHABLES, that movie is a monster.

AE is showing trouble when they shifted the date. MIB4 is in play I guess? Some of the posters are right that Jaden is not a seasoned actor. Remember Will is on TV for a very long time, honing skills and charisma as Fresh Prince. He didn't have it easy. Warners knows HO3 stinks but they trust the brand. If they open it this weekend, it woulda been huge. Not that I want HO3 to succeed, the movie is one giant turd that won't wash off clean

It is entertaining in the broad sense but IM3 success is kinda disconcerting for the future standard of Marvel movies. IM3 should end up with $370-375 million but its breaching $400 mill would send signal to studios: "Hey, look, we don't have to try so hard.." Based on what is onscreen, IM3 only deserves to make what SM4(TASM) did last year $260 million. IM1 is still the best, half of IM2 is still better than the uneven IM3. I hope Marvel/Disney would strive for the genuine myth making of Nolan's BATMANs
