  1. Oh ... Last weekends Top 20: That heavy drop by TFA will be offset by this weekends increase. Nice start for Daddy's Home. TGD probably about expected. Alvin has to be disappointing. 2. to reach Avatar's USD record, TFA needs about 143m i think to pass that. so i doubt that is happening. To be honest the admissions record is about 135m to 140m for TFA, so if the USD record falls i think admissions will also (If we go back further we have no chance of being the all time admissions.... Gone With the Wind is the all time #1 but i'm not convinced that 500m+ equivalent is correct - see the old moviemarshal website for more info... ) Croc dundee is #2 at the moment. Star Wars (the original) is currently 5th just behind Avatar which is about 115m to 120m adjusted even today (thanks to it's high 3D share of course) So I doubt TFA can reach either the USD or Admissions records but it will certainly be very high on both charts....
  3. oh and welcome to rob! and yeah i have to agree i had this pegged @ 60m to 70m... but to be at this total after such a short time is ... well there are no words... amazing , blown away......
  4. Going for my 2nd viewing this afternoon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I won't say lock but yeah it looks very very likely at this point. Especially if we get as expected a 14m+ third weekend. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. To give us a clue where this might end up in the US... In Australia we put up a 12m weekend (yes a long way down from our massive opening of 27m) BUT post that point monday was 4.2m following (thanks RTH) of nearly the same on tuesday. (FYI - the 12m 2nd weekend is really only made up of a weak thursday (eve) + virtually nothing friday + massive sat and sun - cinemas all but close on xmas day here ) projections should see a third weekend increase over the 2nd weekend. (FYI - the 12m was still a new record for the 2nd weekend over 2m ahead of the previous holder) from this 35m+ for monday seems likely in the US.
  7. ok then, my prediction above might need to be revised at this point..... Tues - 4.1m Wed - 3.8m (Weekly total of 23.8m) Thurs - 4m Fri - 4.3m Sat - 4.9m Sun - 4.7m (Weekend = 17.8m...) ok that can't be right... i had 14m at most this weekend... that would be an insane third weekend if i'm right. that would over 80m by the end of the third weekend.
  8. yeah accept at this time of the year everyday is inflated thanks to the fact a lot of people are on holidays anyway. public holidays tend not to mean as much...
  9. My prediction for this week and coming weekend. Tues/wed = 6.5m/ 60.9m Thurs = 3.2m Fri = 3.6m Sat = 4.4m Sun = 4.1m WE = 15.3m. /76.2m Is that crazy? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Nope, still not working... It's working fine in tapatalk but u Lose most of the nice features..... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. From the main TFA thread. Australia is up to 35.7m USD. that should be around 51m AUD which equates to about 12.5m 2nd weekend. but if u consider sat/sun make up nearly 10m of the weekend... Suddenly what looks like a big drop the is in a very different light. Last weekend I think sat/sun made about 12.3m. If that drop happens about the same next weekend and then add in a proper thurs /fri and suddenly 14m is possible for the 4 day next weekend. Not saying it will happen but I'm not expecting a big drop at all for the 3rd. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I think my expectations were too high for Xmas eve and day. At this point I'm thinking 12.5m 2nd weekend 11m mon to wed. 14m 3rd weekend. Total of 76m after 17 days. Check 2009. Nearly all films increased from the Boxing Day weekend. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Guys all this talk of whether TFA will reach 1B. Well let's see... By the end of Sunday TFA should be close to 550m. At the same point avatar was 212m. That's like 330m ahead of avatar at the same point. And dailies continue to be at least double for TFA. yes those dailies will continue to close ur but it's not happening fast as yet. Meaning TFA will continue to pull away from avatar on a daily basis. Just looking at the numbers unless TFA completely craters, 1B is very likely at this point. Put it this way say TFA earns the same $ from now avatar did. TFA Would finish about 1,090m. That's not impossible given TFA is still earning way more meaning it won't as strong legs as avatar got. 1B is looking pretty good at this point. Amazing run. 153 to 160m 2nd weekend. I mean wtf! Insane. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  21. I see what you did there ... you are indeed evil.... that one question could easily be the game changer if someone somehow gets the money question ...... mind u, i'm sure there will be a few who go for the money and lose a lot too.... Love it! oh and your link doesn't go to the right place... hence the confusion...
  22. Pretty much same in Australia though some do now open from 3pm on Xmas day. Tbh both Xmas eve and day are very slow in Australia. For example we had a 3.3m wed approx. Xmas eve and day together only made 2.75m with most of that coming from Xmas eve. Boxing Day is going to be like 5m. (5th highest overall and largest non opening Boxing Day. ) btw those Xmas eve and day totals were records here too. In summary this weekend is going to look like a massive drop but the 3rd could be flat or increase as a result. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
