  1. This is just bullshit. You are entitled to your opinion to like whatever movies you like, but when you call competently made movies trash, and somebody cites Meta-scores for said movies as a way of saying "Hey, this got solid reviews, you should probably be open to the idea that they aren't horrible films", it doesn't make them a "sheep". There is a difference between liking something and thinking it is good film-making. Movies get good reviews for reasons, it's because *gasp* maybe they're actually good movies? But no, baumer thinks people should go against the critics because it's all a big conspiracy and anybody who agrees with them on a regular basis do because they don't think for themselves, it isn't because they don't have the same fucked taste and/or grip on reality that you do. Get it through your thick skull that critics are just people like you and me (well, me) who analyze the quality of movies and share that analysis with those interested in potentially seeing them, or comparing their own analyses with those of the critics. That the millions of people who also love the movies critics love and hate the ones critics hate aren't sheep who just like things because other people like them, but because the movies critics rip tend to suck and the movies they love tend to be decent.
  2. The only movies I'd venture to say are worse than BD on that list are Smurfs and Hop, going only off of the previous Twilight movies, the plot sypnosis, and reviews for it. And those were hardly blockbusters, I'd compare it to any over 200M movie, and it is all but certainly the worst movie of the year to surpass 200M.
  3. I honestly can't think of what other blockbuster you're talking about, except MAYBE Transformers.
  4. They're both pedophiles, so neither.
  5. Why no 50/50? I'm investing hope in Dragon Tattoo, but everyone's so down on its odds, not holding my breath.
  6. I went with Caps, but then thought about it, and then Thor.
  7. 1. The Social Network2. Toy Story 33. Shutter Island4. Buried5. Inception6. 127 Hours7. Kick-Ass8. The Fighter9. The Other Guys10. Machete
  8. Is it not Indian? The name "The Brave and the Bear" suggested that to me..
  9. I'd like a different kind of departure, not involving fairy tale Indian crap...
  10. Don't get me wrong, I would MUCH prefer an original property to Monsters U. This particular original property doesn't really do it for me.... I really don't like that Pixar would make this type of movie.
  11. Meh.... I feel the same way about this as I did about Up at this point in time. Of course, Up turned out being awesome, but I refuse to be sure this will go the same way.
  12. I couldn't care less about this Brave movie, but Monsters U is going to be the shit.
  13. "Network shows suck" was a hyperbole, but really, cable televison is way way better.
  14. 1. The Departed2. Fight Club3. Evil Dead 24. Reservoir Dogs5. Inglourious Basterds6. Pulp Fiction7. The Evil Dead8. GoodfellasI can't really put together a comprehensive list at the moment, but those are many of the essentials, with 1 and 2 being in order. I'd have to put a whole shitload of thought into it.
  15. ^Never mind, I see now that that is actually already going on.
  16. This idea would probably be frowned upon, but I think the idea of a completely rebooted CAYOM universe would be cool, with no sequels to past franchises, and potential rebooted franchises that would take the story in different directions. Then again, I have no existing franchises in the game, and therefore no stake in them, so I could understand why others would feel differently.
  17. Not all of them, and the ones that don't are the exception, not the rule.
